If i remember right i think the gates opened at 7:30-8 in the evening on Wed. last year. The cops were going around walmarts parking lot telling everyone the gates were open.
Thank you for this info. I think I'll leave from Northwest Indiana at noon on Wednesday.
Last year some kids were being stupid and smokin in their RV with the windows wide open, so needless to say they got busted...just tickets, no one got hauled away..haha I would keep it chill wile waiting in the walmart parking lot.
i'm new to Roo and planned to get to manchester for early admit (7:00 am)....good idea to avoid long lines....what time is best....go to walmart first?
B and I will probably get there late Wed night... or after midnight. We don't even know when we're supposed to pick up our tix and passes at will call... Hmmm...
Feel like I need someone to hold my hand or something. I am driving down and don't know when I will be getting there. I assume that Wal-Mart will be easy to find? And everyone will be nice and friendly if I come up there to feel safe? I am so shy and have a hard time with these things. I am thinking that Bonnaroo might break this. What do you think?
^^^ come on - we don't bite - we will be on the side away from the rowdy crowd (at least I will be) - just look for the Mississippi license plates! We'll keep ya safe

Mississippi plates on the non-rowdy side... got it. I have no idea what time I will be down there anyway. Don't know what time I am leaving yet. Don't know how long I can drive without resting and so forth. Depending on all the above, I might be down there by 2a.m. I will definitely try to find you. tee hee
so yall are just going to chill the whole night in the wal mart parking lot? because i definitely think that's what we're going to have to do just want to make sure that there's going to be others to hang with
I'm going with a friend and we just had to change our plans. We''l leave very early on Wednesday and we'll get in walmart around 7 I think.. I read some of you are camping at Bonnaroo on wednesday night.. would it be ok with we joined you guys? =}

Any of you Wal-Marters going to camp in RV this year? Seaturtle and some of our friends are in RV, would love to camp near some Inforooers. muleyourfaceoff - you making it to WalMart too? Would like to hook up if you are gonna be in RV, would make that homebrew for boudin balls exchange easier...
M'n'B - I know you had recommended the Ameristar in Vicksburg as a casino I can stop at. Now I'm re-thinking what direction I'm going to come. I will probably head I-10E through Louisiana and then at some point start heading north. I was thinking of hitting the Pearl River Resort/Casino in Philadelphia, MS. Would that be a good direction to take on the way to Roo?
I guess what I am driving at - does anyone have any suggestions on the route I should take from Houston to Roo? I figure I'll just stop at whatever place (hotel/casino) is the most convenient.
Boog, I'm in Gulfport, MS, off of I10, if you want to stop at a casino, i suggest Beau Rivage or Imperial Palace in Biloxi, MS. They're both about 10 minutes south of I10, and are pretty nice. Stopping there will leave you about 500 miles from Manchester.

boogfoot, i'm heading to bonnaroo from houston too, and as of right now i'm just following the map from mapquest. for the ending address i just put the wal mart in machester.

I know Ameristar in V'burg is good - I have not been to the Coast since they have rebuilt - I would have to go with Smurfs recommendations there
I think my friends and I (there are five of us total, me, my best friend, his girlfriend, and two of our other friends) are going to be heading down there Wednesday night. We should get there either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. I'm going to sit at home until I can't stand it and then I'm leaving. Hopefully you are all OK with some more company. I just have one quick question, Do those cops ask for ID if you are drinking in the parking lot (or is it a decent possiblity that they might). I planned on putting it in a cup anyways (I'm 20). Thanks.

Thanks MnB, I was pretty much undecided on whether to take the northern route up through Shrevesport and then over to V'burg or take I10E through southern LA and MS. I am more familiar with the Southern route (from many a trip from Baton Rouge to Fla), so I will in all likelihood take that route.
heatheroo (or anyone else for that matter) - what is the address for Wal Mart? Apologies if it's already been posted...
