I could fill out a top 50 fairly easily, this has been the best year of music for me by far. Thank all y'all on inforoo for expanding my musical gamut and cheers to making next year just as awesome!
1. Paul McCartney (Firefly) 2. Prince (Royal Farms Arena) 3. Primus (All Good) 4. Earth Wind & Fire (Bonnaroo) 5. Florence & the Machine (Bonnaroo) 6. Chance the Rapper (Trillectro) 7. Thievery Corporation (All Good) 15. Pink Talking Fish (Lunalight) 16. Throwback Superjam! (Bonnaroo) 17. Tame Impala (Echostage) 18. Childish Gambino (Bonnaroo) 19. Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals (Bonnaroo) 20. Lettuce (All Good) 21. Dopapod set #2 (Lunalight) 22. Papadosio (Luna Light) 23. Tauk (All Good) 24. Temples (Bonnaroo) 25. Cashmere Cat (Trillectro)
That Tycho set at Bonnaroo was way better than I expected. I knew it would be good, but that was right on time. Last night I was checking out a bunch of the stuff I am only somewhat or remotely familiar with playing Euphoria (Wave Racer, Bass Physics, Big Wild, Com Truise, Digital Tape Machine, Future Rock) and ended up watching a long clip from Tycho Bonnaroo and remembered just how great that was. I don't recall if I put it in my Roo Top 10 writeup, but if not, it probably should have been.
Was my first time seeing them and I was blown away, loved the projector displaying the visuals on the ceiling of the tent. Perfect feeling leaving Tycho going into the superjam, made the superjam that much better getting me further into that Bonnaroo mood. Surprisingly I only know of Com Truise from the list you gave, I'll have to look up them up. Check out Bent, Emancipator, Yppah, Gramatik (coffee house selections), saltillo.
That show was more than worthy of a top ten, one of my fondest show moments of the year, probably could have put them higher tbh.
Yeah, I had heard of a few of those acts, but I didn't know their works, so I trolled YouTube to watch what I could. Digital Tape Machine is an evolving collective that used to have a couple of Umphrey's guys in it. They don't play that often.
I love some Gramatik. But for whatever reason, I hadn't seen him until the 3 sets I caught this year (slept through Thurs' set at Bonnaroo). I like most of the acts that work on his label as well (Exmag, etc.). That was also my first time seeing Tycho although I had listened to them before. Great show, and it will be nice to see them again at Euphoria next year (along with Tribe, GRiZ, Lance Herbstrong, Lettuce, Branchez, Polish Ambassador, Dillon Francis, etc.). I'm going to see if I can search for my Bonnaroo Top 10 to see if I remembered 'em.
EDIT - I forgot about them in the write-up. I also thought I gave MMJ #2, but #4 is good. I'd have put TYCHO somewhere around Run the Jewels or Bassnectar in my list had I remembered.
1. STS9 - also by far the coolest quacking crowd this weekend 2. Slayer - Bonnaroo throwing a bone to harder fans 3. Moon Taxi - Awesome set 4. MMJ 5. Medeski, Martin, Scofield and Wood - A higher plane than most of the rest of the card 6. Bassnectar - was too pop in parts for me but some Bass Heads I trust were comparing with all time sets 7. Run the Jewels 8. Brownout presents Briwn Sabbath - can't ever get too much Sabbath 9. Kendrick 10. Flying Lotus - only got a little of this set, but I will see him again.

Edited to correct a horrible oversight on my part. Sorry, Ben Miller Band. Loved your set. But, as you well know, in Top Shows of the Year lists, tie goes to the lesbians. Edited further to address my poor math skills.

Courtney Barnett - Bonnaroo
Alabama Shakes - Bonnaroo

Ben Miller Band - Hardly Strictly Bluegrass
North Mississippi Allstars (w/ Phil Lesh) - Terrapin Crossroads, San Rafael
1. Dolly Parton at the Ryman 2. AC/DC at Coachella 3. Sufjan Stevens at the Ryman
If you had told me earlier this year that AC/DC would be one of the best shows I've seen this year, I would died laughing. The show was great but the circumstances and the company were really what made it so awesome.
How do you all track the shows you go to, or do I just have a really bad memory?
Concertarchives is a great new website that popped up this year that helps.
Thank you for this. I have had fun reliving the year inputting my shows.
1. Paul McCartney, Firefly 2. The Rolling Stones, Carter-Finley, Raleigh, NC 3. Foo Fighters, Centennial Park, ATL 4. Morrissey, Firefly (bucket list show) 5. Fun true fact - I actually scored tickets for this one on my phone with 1% battery while sitting in an ER hospital bed trying to find out if I'd had a heart attack.
1. Kendrick Lamar, King Kunta Groove Sessions 2. Kendrick Lamar, Bonnaroo (just as a personal experience sort of thing, the pit was A LOT of fun) 3. Neutral Milk Hotel, Shaky Knees 4. Pixies, Shaky Knees 5. Mac Demarco, Bonnaroo 6. Slayer, Bonnaroo 7. Flying Lotus, Bonnaroo 8. Jamie XX, Bonnaroo 9. FIDLAR, Shaky Knees 10. Grimes, Buckhead Theater
For the first time in a while, I only went to like three shows this year. So that's why mostly everything is from Bonnaroo and Shaky Knees

Wasn't gonna go to the NYC show, but Delicious Meatball Sub strongly recommended it and told me there were tickets at a good price on stubhub the day of the show so i picked some up and it was incredible. I told him I owe him a beer and I'm a man of my word.

Mumford & Sons, Raleigh 6. alt-j, Charlotte 7. Cage The Elephant, Firefly 8. Sturgill Simpson, Firefly 9. Avett Bros (next week -- great way to ring out 2015) Greensboro 10. all the others
Not to quote myself, but The Avett Brothers exceeded expectations last night. 29 songs which wrapped around 1:00 AM in Greensboro. They rotate their NYE shows between Greensboro, Charlotte and Raleigh. If you find yourself in one of those cities for their year, it's a fun way to ring in the new year. Lots of confetti, balloons, Father Time appearance, collaborations with the opening act (Asleep At The Wheel last night).
1. Jamie xx - La Cigale (Paris, France) 2. Gesaffelstein - Freaky Deaky Festival (Chicago)
Other notable shows (Random order):
Jamie xx - Pitchfork Festival (Chicago) Todd Terje - Pitchfork Festival Chance The Rapper - Pitchfork (And also Reaction NYE but he only played 35 minutes) Chvrches - Pitchfork (Reaction NYE set just as good) Shamir - Pitchfork deadmau5 - Reaction NYE (much better than Bonnaroo) Skrillex - Reaction NYE Jamie xx - Bonnaroo Kendrick Lamar - Bonnaroo Tove Lo - Bonnaroo Jungle - Bonnaroo Houndmouth - Bonnaroo Alabama Shakes - White River State Park (Indianapolis) Superjam 15 - Bonnaroo Florence + The Machine - Bonnaroo Caribou - Bonnaroo Paul McCartney - Lollapalooza Hot Chip - Lollapalooza Tommy Trash - Bluebird (Bloomington, IN) Cherub - Bluebird (Bloomington, IN) 3lau - Dunnkirk (Bloomington, IN) Rihanna - White River State Park (Indianapolis) Bleachers - White River State Park (Indianapolis) Zac Brown Band - White River State Park (Indianapolis) St Vincent - Old National Centre (Indianapolis) Ellie Goulding - MTV Europe Awards (Milan, Italy)
Been a slow concert year for me, but here goes: 1. John Prine and Jason Isbell- Von Braun Civic Center 2. My Morning Jacket- Bonnaroo 3. Weird Al Yankovic- Ryman Auditorium 4. Cheap Trick- Ascend Amphitheater 5. Earth, Wind, and Fire- Bonnaroo 6. Los Lobos- Americanafest 7. Dom Flemons- Americanafest 8. Tears for Fears- Bonnaroo 9. SHEL- City Winery 10. Fats Kaplin Trio- Americanafest
Honorable Mentions: Slayer, John Mellencamp, Brown Sabbath, Rhiannon Giddens, Willie Watson, Laney Jones & The Spirits.
Sad to say that 2015 was my lightest concert year since I started really going to shows a decade ago, but I'm glad that all sets I saw at Shaky Knees (the one day I was there) were completely satisfactory. Eh, I's a sad panda thinking of all the great shows I missed last year.

Bit of a British invasion going on in the top half of my list!
Here's some photos and a brief review of each, spoilered for length:
1. New Order @ Day for Night Festival, Houston, December 19
One of the best shows I have ever seen. Bawled my eyes out and danced my ass off the entire time.
2. Morrissey @ Sydney Opera House (Concert Hall), Sydney, May 26
Perhaps the greatest singer I have ever heard live. I get why Moz can act like such an asshole and get away with it - because he sounds like that. He sounds like he was meant to sing with cherubs, but was too much of a cheeky shit to get into heaven. I have never seen a crowd go so wild - EVER. It felt like Beatlemania all over again in the Opera House that night. This was every panty-throwing, oh-my-god-he-glanced-in-my-general-direction cliche, amplified to an entirely new level.
This one gets knocked down a slight peg or two because the setlist was mostly comprised of new material. Moz plays what Moz wants. For me, that included the first performance of Will Never Marry since ’91.... but it also meant only three Smiths songs in 2 hours, despite 8 songs from the new album. Still, those soft, ethereal vocals entranced me the entire time, sounding as if they might just flutter away in a stiff breeze.
3. Florence and the Machine @ Sydney Opera House (Forecourt), Sydney, November 14
Another show I will carry to my grave. One of my favourite vocal performances. What a showman! And shows on the Forecourt are always special.
News of the Paris attacks had broken that day, and it felt important to be at a show that night, after the siege of the Bataclan, at a venue that's been threatened in the recent past. Seeing the Opera House lit up in French colours, holding our lighters in silence and solidarity, before a gorgeous rendition of You've Got the Love in the victims' honour.... too much.
So good I had to splurge entirely too much on one of these. Ain’t she pretty?
4. Peter Hook and the Light @ Metro Theatre, Sydney, February 19
An opening set of Joy Division, then Low Life & Brotherhood in full, then an encore of more New Order; Hooky never fails to deliver. She’s Lost Control is an especially powerful song for me, and hearing it front row centre, performed so beautifully - more waterworks.
5. Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaires @ Enmore Theatre, Sydney, April 2
Charles Bradley was opening for the Alabama Shakes, but there was no question who the real headliner was (with respect to the Shakes). I stood right in front of Charles, and for whatever reason, he decided to stare directly into my eyes for much of the show. Hearing a man with a voice like that, looking straight into your eyes, pouring his soul out about everything he’s experienced… it was too much. I wept through the better part of this one.
6. Johnny Marr @ Enmore Theatre, Sydney, July 20
This was the year I saw both Morrissey and Marr, so quack it - I’m calling 2015 the year I saw the Smiths. Not The Smiths, but 'the' Smiths. And where Moz lacked on the hits, Johnny let me get what I want this time. What guitar work! So choice.
7. Blur @ Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney, July 25
First Aussie show in 18 years. I was initially going to skip this, but there was a last minute sale on nosebleeds that was too good to pass up. This one was just straight up fun - much needed after a relatively somber Damon solo show the previous year. I felt like I was 12 (a very drunk 12) all over again, and it was awesome.
8. TV on the Radio @ Sydney Opera House (Concert Hall), Sydney, June 9
I’d seen them at Bonnaroo ’09 and enjoyed it, but damn - was not expecting this.
9. Courtney Barnett @ Metro Theatre, Sydney, May 7
What more can I say that hasn’t already been written about her ad nauseum this year? Girl fuckin’ rocks it (as do her bandmates). Much more of a lo-fi grungy feel live than I was expecting.
10. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard @ Gizzfest, Factory Theatre, Sydney, May 30
Mad-ness. All the bands on the bill that day were amazing that day. King Gizz curated an amazing festival, and I hope it becomes a yearly event.
11. Goat @ Metro Theatre, Sydney, December 9
12. Spoon @ Metro Theatre, Sydney, February 14
I didn’t meet anyone last Valentine’s Day, but I still got to Spoon.
13. Deltron 3030 @ The Hi-Fi, Sydney, February 28
14. Lennon: Through a Glass Onion @ Sydney Opera House (Playhouse), Sydney, May 2
Maybe not strictly a “concert”, but I think it counts. This was a one-man musical about John Lennon recounting his life, punctuating scenes and stories with relevant songs on guitar (w/ piano accompaniment).
15. In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited @ Sydney Opera House (Concert Hall), Sydney, March 14
What the hell even was this. This concert started with a man sawing a log on stage (oh yes!), and somehow it only got more Lynchian from there. The ensemble (featuring Mick Harvey of the Bad Seeds + Cibo Matto did all the big songs from David Lynch’s movies - In Heaven, In Dreams, themes and pieces from Mullholland Drive and Twin Peaks and Eraserhead, etc. There were so many costumes and characters and set pieces that it almost felt like a musical. One very psychedelic musical.

1. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds @ Webster Hall 2. Kendrick Lamar @ Terminal 5 3. Blur @ Madison Square Garden 4. Blur @ Music Hall of Williamsburg 5. Death Cab for Cutie and Explosions in the Sky @ Madison Square Garden 6. Jack White and Run the Jewels @ Madison Square Garden 7. Smashing Pumpkins @ Jones Beach
in no particular order: raury @ bonnaroo - what a perfect way to kick off the fest. i really groove with his music, and his energy that evening was great.
deadmau5 @ bonnaroo - been a big fan for a long time, and i was super pumped to finally see him live.
tycho @ bonnaroo - also been a big fan for a while. great way to kick off saturday late night. the live band kicked ass, and the atmosphere was one of the best of the weekend.
sylvan esso @ bonnaroo - what a fun show! amelia was super adorable.
washed out dj set @ backwoods music fest - wow. i saw washed out at roo in 2014 and really enjoyed it, but ernest threw together one of the best house sets i've ever heard. incredible performance.
kodak to graph @ backwoods - this guy came on right after the washed out dj set. really awesome hip hop/trappy beats with his own unique twist. i was groovin' the entire time. definitely unlike any other show i've seen.
odesza @ backwoods - had been waiting to see them for a long time, and i missed them at roo after being sucked into sts9's set. WOW. super chill at the beginning, working up energy as the show went on. the encore was amazing. i had soooo much fun at this set.
porter robinson live set @ backwoods - had already seen porter twice, but they were dj sets. experiencing the live set there was incredibly special. probably the highlight of the entire weekend.
robert delong & RAC @ the midland - this was a really cool experience. i love the venue, and had seen delong before at a festival, but at this show he had people going through the crowd painting faces. it was pretty neat to see at the end of the show when tons of faces were painted.
protohype & herobust @ 2720 cherokee - this was my first time at this venue and i fell in love with it. very small and intimate. good crowd. it was kinda a last minute decision to go to this show so it really exceeded my expectations.
g-eazy & a$ap ferg @ the fabulous fox theater - first concert that my brother and i attended together. the fox is a really awesome venue with a lot of history, although it's not really suited well for a rap show. still had a ton of fun. a$ap ferg brought out rocky and wale which was a great surprise.
