Saw Dolly at the Ryman this past summer. Can confirm life-changing.
My wife and I want to take a trip to Nashville at some point, but are holding out for a Dolly Parton date.
You might be holding out for a while. She rarely plays here. She did a two-night run at the Ryman in August as a fundraiser for the Opry. Her stories about her experiences in the industry rival anything Paul McCartney has ever shared during his performances.

Would she not just be in a similar spot that past country legends like Merle, Willie, and Loretto held? Like a tent closer maybe? I remember the year Kris Kristofferson played, the mayor of Manchester came out during his midday set and gave him a key to the city. They might kneel and kiss Dolly's feet and probably name a street after her if she played.

I think she's a bit of a different case and would draw similarly to Willie or ZBB at Bonnaroo. She's almost universally loved and still plays to giant audiences. (Look at the crowd for Glastonbury in the videos posted here.)

Those crowd's at Glasto always look massive, plus some acts just have a bigger wow factor overseas. Could be people camped out for an upcoming act on that same stage. I remember seeing footage of Alabama Shakes at Glastonbury a few years ago and from the crowd size I would have thought The Stones were playing. There was also that Adele quote where she said the crowd there stinks because people are relieving themselves so as not to lose their spot.

Go home, you're drunk. She's way bigger then all those (except maybe Willie). The real thing is that I can't see her agreeing to do it to play a tent.

Well, she also has her own theme park. People with their own theme park get What. It's part of the Bonnaroovian Code.

Dolly does play far less shows than these other acts, so she may command a stage. I just don't see her being a huge draw with the Roo crowd or any of her die hard fans wanting to pay $400 for a Bonnaroo lineup. But hey, there are day passes now.
