Also, just throwing this up as well. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really really excited for this.
Me too. Like Bono personally or not, U2 is a band that always brings it live. Anyone who is interested in Bonnaroo's continued health should be happy too. This should be a near guaranteed sell out. If they really are playing two shows at Met Life Stadium, that's nearly two Bonnaroos' capacity alone.
I will say that a part of me was hoping that U2 would fall through or something. The chance to see them in that setting is one of the only things holding me to Roo instead of doing a different camping festival like Eaux Claires or Wayhome. If Roo manages to book 2 or 3 really exciting undercard acts that I'm not able to see anywhere else (ATCQ, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop, an Atomic Bomb!-type thing that nobody's expecting, etc.) I'll have to give in, but otherwise I'm very torn and might just end up bailing
