That explains the bro type music Roo is getting :/ All those fraternity bros drove BMW's and bumped Getter while I took public transportation and listened too Bon Iver.
I don't disagree with your sentiment, but this post really captures the essence of a Bon Iver fan.
I just don't get it...Can you guys explain to me why Roo wants to market itself to poor college students? I missed 2012 to 2015 because I couldn't afford Roo while going to college and now I can afford it, but these lineups suck. I'm not saying all college students are poor and can't afford Roo like I did, but what's the reasoning behind marketing this festival with acts like Getter, NGHTMARE, and others too people who can't really afford to attend the festival, where as working folks like us can afford it, but want a better lineup and reason to drive out to bum fuck Tennessee. It seems like the people at Livenation are intentionally trying to fuck this festival...
They're marketing themselves to college students with rich parents.
Which also doesn't make sense because those kids go to Coachella or Lolla instead

Or Ultra/Tomorrowland/Sunset Music Festival.....Bascially the music they're bringing from those festivals, which are much more centralized, too Bonna-fucking-roo which is in the middle of nowhere. Why would some privileged college student who can afford Ultra go to sweaty bonnaroo? Doesn't make sense to me.

Bonnaroo has a reputation (at least from what I've noticed) as being slightly more escapist than those. Gives that crowd an even greater opportunity to go and party for 4 days without worrying about the consequences. This reputation is from people who only know about Bonnaroo and haven't been.

Which is really strange considering that there are no drugs at Bonnaroo.
None, zip, nada, zilch.
But there's also non existant drugs at those festivals too? And at least you get to sleep in a hotel room, not outside and woken up at 7am by the blistering sun!

Camping is actually a positive for a lot of people. Being able to do whatever you want and get as fucked up as you want for 4 days without having to be in the "real world".
Eaux Claires moving their dates to the weekend after Bonnaroo makes the decision easy for me. Bonnaroo would have to knock it out of the park with their lineup for me to burn a week's vacation to head back to Tennessee instead to go to a solid lineup 90 minutes away
Plus Eaux Claires is getting GAYNGS this year which is super cool.
I hated that jerkstorm but every once in awhile I wonder what he is up to. He would be fun for a day or two then block him again, then maybe some day randomly unblock him. Just for fun ya know?

Yeah, while campin' in the TN heat can be a challenge, I've found that to be part of the fun over the years. And my girlfriend really enjoys the plannin' of our campsite. It was nice when it was just included in the ticket price unlike now.
And yeah, I have loved wanderin' back to my camp (be it Inforoo or elsewhere) and just havin' one last beer or two and talkin' 'bout everyone's experiences durin' the day!
don't these radius clauses or whatever stop them from announcing most of their artists anyway? they probably can only release certain names, probably only a few noteworthy ones. and the rest of them january 11th
Why can't we have a festival like Primavera Sound in the US? They consistently knock it out of the park, and the price is far less than most other major festivals.

Jealous every time I look at their lineups.
Let's go next year.
Edit-2018
I wish, those airline prices hurt. It looks like flights are close to $1k in my quick 2 minute search this morning.
And Barcelona looks like an amazing city to explore as well. One can dream

I had a ton of fun in 2016 because of the headliners and lack of people, but god damn when you list it out this way it makes it look SO bad
