well a few hours ago. my answer was directed at s2
I was wondering about the post that indicated they may play other festivals. If that's the one that's being referred to I don't think that leads us to conclude one way or another of more festivals
its just speculation at this point. they word it as in "u2s first music festival ever this year"
why add this year in it it all? why not just leave it at the first music festival ever and end there.
I think this will obviously sell better than 2016, but I don't know how many average U2 fans will make the trip with all of the shows they are playing. It's not like the undercard will do much to get them there unless Roo is booking some legacy acts.
I would assume the chance to see U2 in a GA setting would be a big draw for a lot of folks.
This is true, though I didn't really have much trouble getting GA tix for their last two tours. U2 are one of my favorite bands of all time and I wouldn't consider going back to Roo unless we see an undercard more on the 2013-2014 level, which doesn't seem likely based on the clues and leaks so far.

Because people who run social media sites aren't always focused on perfect grammar.
I think they are just saying this is the first US Fest for U2.

I'm not saying that U2 won't be anywhere else, but "this year" does not indicate that there are more US fests they will be at.
A. Why on earth would Roo intentionally try to lead us to believe U2 will be elsewhere. B. Even if U2 was going to be at ACL, why would Roo need to add in "this year" as a qualifier? Whether U2 plays their next US fest in 2018 or the day after they play Roo, the statement would hold true that Roo was the first.
All they were trying to get at was, "U2's first US Fest Appearance! This year! At the farm!

i believe you are correct sir. you should probably write their flyers haha
The 18-24yo crowd o social media is hilarious right now. They are aruging that Styx and Journey are more relevant because they have "hits" and U2 doesn't. Matt Stone and Trey Parker should be given an award for the work they did to discredit U2's output to an entire generation via a cartoon. Brilliant!

there's no way they get all the blame. there's itunes and bono's overall cheesy ass demeanor to fit in as well.
Excited to add U2 to my plethora of artists I've experienced thanks to the eclecticism of the farm. Think I might even go VIP this year. First year VIP w/ or without camper, I'm stoked regardless.
Love you, Bonnaroo.....but hurry the hell up and get here
We made a bet; I said that I'd be willing to be that Bonnaroo wouldn't be U2's only U.S. appearance. At the same time, I also mentioned that I'd be stunned if it was their only U.S. festival. You decided to bet me that Bonnaroo would be their only U.S festival. I agreed, though it wasn't my original proposition.
I said lets bet $20 and you said no because you thought I had scoops.

The iTunes thing is even funnier. People acted like it was heresy, I loved watching everyone meltdown over it. Also, people bitching about someone using their fame to raise money for AIDS research is fantastic.

it really doubt anyone EVER made of him for those reasons.

They did and do. Because a lot of people just view him as being preachy and often don't really pay attention to the cause.
