I honestly believe that this lineup is purely subject to which bands will be repeat bands for you as an attendee. I by no means like the lineup, but there's still a ton of acts I'm going to see for the first time that make it worth it to still give it a shot.

Yep, this.
I haven't seen LCD, PJ, any version of the Dead, Tame, M83, Death Cab, Vince Staples, Jason Isbell, Kamasi, or Hundred Waters before - and genuinely excited for all those. In result, I really don't hate this lineup. It isn't amazing but there's a good amount I'm enthused about But if I'd seen half or more of those acts already multiple times and/or recently, that'd be a different story.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I feel like everyone is going to be a lot less excited about a Tame Impala late night when they're given 90 minutes before they need to get off stage for Adventure Club.
Bonnaroo's latenights really ain't what the used to be. Gone are the days when bands were given extended time slots and encouraged to get weird; now it's just acts playing when it's dark out.
Unfortunately, that does seem to be the trend. I'll be interested to see when the schedule comes out, and if the LN sets are as truncated as last year.
And they're just filling the void with Kalliope. And Kalliope has real potential if they stick some talented DJs up there. That thing sounds amazing, and has a decent visual appeal too.

A fair number of bands I like, but a lot of cheesy acts that seem to indicate the crowd would be on the immature side. The headliners are incongruous with the rest of the lineup.

I think this is more about the band than it is about Bonnaroo. I'm sure if Tame was all about deviating from their normal show to play a 2.5 hour set Roo would be all about it.

It definitely is not like the past. It seemed like every year there was at least one marathon set of 3-4 hours with guests and surprises.
I'd rather go back to that then have secret sets that pop up but I don't find out about until the next day.

I voted "It's Cool, I dig it" because I like it a lot more than most but there's no denying that what we have seen so far is pretty weak and/or bland compared to what you'd expect from a top tier festival.

I voted "It's fine." But I want to be clear. I'm not using fine as in "We had a fine time" or "It's a fine day." I'm using fine as in when you tell your spouse or significant other that you're not going to be able to take her out that night as planned because you started partying a little too early in the day and she says, "Fine! We don't need to go out." But she says it too loudly and with an angry tone. It's "fine" in that sense.

As it stands, I give it a 3/10. With a few interesting additions, it could be a 5. Outside of the headliners, it looks too much like Firefly's lineup from last year. Mostly disappointed because I know Bonnaroo can do so much better than this.
I love the headliners but the undercard sucks. A few bands here and there that I wouldn't mind seeing but nothing unique at all. The only reason I went to Bonnaroo in the past was for those unique bands that rarely toured or I wouldn't be able to see otherwise. I don't think I've really been in love with an entire Bonnroo lineup top-to-bottom since 2011. Every year I think they are finally going to release a great lineup and every year I'm disappointed. This year is no exception.

"It's fine" always meant I was gonna be watching tv on the couch alone
"Fine" is pretty much the perfect word to describe this lineup, and honestly these days with my lack of desire to sprint from stage to stage for as many shows as I possibly can, "fine" is just perfectly worth a ticket. I can totally understand how someone wouldn't be inspired to buy a ticket with this lineup, though.

it's still better than just fine for me because of the four acts i want to see most three are playing long, largely unopposed sets, one is likely to play a long late-night set, and none will oppose one another. I can bank on that and there's plenty of smaller stuff to enjoy throughout the rest of the fest, it just seems smaller than usual. If two or more acts i like in the 4-25 range are added to what we know that would help a great deal but i still likely wouldn't click "excited"

Pearl Jam- my favorite band of my life time. Tame Impala- their Ryman show in Nashville was the best show I've ever seen there! Best show of 2015. I lost my mind- don't stare at the eyeball! M83- most beautiful music! LCD- Dance yrself clean, really! My other favs- Dead- Mayer is a great guitarist- accept it St Lucia/2 door cinema- fun dance party, FJM, Ellie( great chick pop act), new peeps- Leon Bridges, Andra Day, hundred waters(wow!), ibeyi.
EDM and hip hop are soft. #truth J Cole and Mack are soft, then don't suck necessarily, but compared to Kendrick and RTJ- not even close!
May Tycho May Phoenix June Rooo July MMJ and Margo Price August Queen with Adam Lambert August Roger Waters (Bucket list #1) August Spoon and Portugal the man Sept Depeche Mode Sept Pilgrimage Fest

i have seen zero people say anything negative about Mayer's guitar ability maybe ever anywhere, certainly not on this board anytime recently. I am totally turned off by his songwriting personally but that is my only gripe. His being an amazing guitar player is exactly why i dislike his music so much; otherwise I'd just ignore him like any other mumbling sex fiend (which i also don't begrudge him for). I just wish he'd throw down at least one album of remarkable guitar work since he is more than capable of it.

John Mayer Trio shows his real skill. The rest is disappointing

A little drunk last night and I was with one of my Roo friends that was ragging him a bit. Guess my worlds crossed last night! I haven't seen much negativity either. i tend to agree his music is just meh but his skills will be on display on the farm.
I give the lineup a solid B. A good comedian or two could really help fill in some gaps.
