going to be the craziest fucking set of the weekend. someone might die. last year there was a shaky knees inforoo thread mosh pit coordinated. maybe we can do the same with roo this year.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Wild punk shows on the farm are the best. I predict this one will be awesome, like Against Me last year and Cloud Nothings the year before
Cloud Nothings was actually one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. I spent most of the show in the (large) mosh pit singing along to everything with everyone else, then when I left the pit two random big dudes asked me if I wanted to stand on their shoulders. So I spent the last couple songs of their set standing above the crowd.

Anyway FIDLAR always brings it live
cloud nothings is one of my favorite band. that 2014 set was killer. had to leave during the no future/no past finale because i was exhausted, sweating profusely, & had to get my energy back for j roddy walston. big regret.

Oh shit I saw you....in fact I'm almost sure I met you before hand. Because when I saw the dude standing on the shoulders I was like "ayyy that's the dude I talked to earlier"

what would be your guys' ideal day/time for this show?
my friends introduced them to me only a few weeks ago. the first song i listened to was cheap beer. i kinda want them to play earlyish on thursday or friday to start off the whole weekend loud and rowdy.
i imagine the sun beating down on my face, but i've got a cold beer and a cig, and i'm just soaking in all the attitude. it'll be my first punk show so i want to go all in.

The same spot Ty Segall got in 2014 on Thursday. You still had a bunch of energy, it was after dark so it wasn't crazy hot and it was near the end of the night so you could finish your evening there like myself, Boner and bacon did.
Idk, this one upset me. I can't see how you go from Against Me, Nofx, Bouncing Souls and Rise Against to FIDLAR. I never even heard of them but looked them up and didn't like it. They always had 1 punk band it was always one I grew up on. Kind of sad they didn't do that this year.

i am in Vancouver right now. Ty Segall is playing tomorrow night (album release night at that). You are by my side in spirit. I will see your sweaty bearded mug in the crowd of mosh all night.
I saw FIDLAR at ACL in '13 and '15. Both times the show started before 2 pm and it was the most calm crowd you could imagine. Even from the front for the first year, everyone had their arms to their side, only occasionally raising them for a sip of their morning beer. Nothing like the Fun Fun Fun Black Stage crowd that rages from the first act in the morning on through the closer, many just posting up there for the entirety of the day. So, here is to hoping they play Thursday and get an after dark set, though I imagine the Roo crowd getting rowdy even if it is in the afternoon.

I think it's a little hit or miss at Roo. I can remember Japandroids having a pretty lax crowd a few years back. Also can't remember, but there was one other I was really let down by last year.
For every "meh" crowd, though, there seems to be a bounce back crowd, as well.

A lot of that crowd was camping for Alt-J, best I remember.

Well that is pretty disappointing. I saw them twice at local shows last year and it was crazy at both

I wouldn't read too much into it. I can't recall an ACL crowd getting very wild at any show like FIDLAR, especially not early in the day.

In my experience Roo crowds are usually amazing for these shows. In the case of Japandroids, it was a ton of people waiting for Alt J. Even then the crowd was fairly rowdy. Cloud Nothings, Ty Segall, King Gizz etc... were all awesome.
