I despised the HIMYM ending first time around; then when i rewatched the series, I kinda liked the ending. Maybe because I knew it was coming and was able to rationalize it better.... Still a great sitcom overall.

It is a really smart, imaginative and funny show that does a good job of building its own world of inside jokes. I probably have watched The Pineapple Incident about a dozen times and still find it entertaining.

I'm gonna sound snobbish but that ending didn't come out of nowhere, they alluded to it a ton. And for the overall setup of the show it I felt like it had to end that way, it was sad but neccesary.

I think anyone who watched the show could feel some enjoyment in them ending up together, but how it was done completely diminished the mother. To me that was a bad misstep.
I think that the real problem was that the last season was probably the weakest. That and, much like Lost, they spent a lot of time denying that everybody had figured it out to only have it turn out to be pretty much exactly what had been speculated from the beginning.

I'm ashamed that I had forgotten to include Kids in the Hall on my draft board. I am squishing my own head.
I figured I could hold on to it a while because it's not exactly in the public eye lately, but it's my favorite sketch comedy show. I have seen them live twice, and I highly recommend doing so if you ever get the opportunity.
