I'm so sad I opted not to participate in this...so many great albums still being drafted.
And Rummy it's kinda scary how similar are music tastes are. I was looking through the last page like "Oh Bright Eyes, nice. I love that album...FUCK it's Rummy. Oh sweet, Regina Spektor! That album's great too!....FUCK it's Rummy again!" Not that I mind that you share my superb taste in music, but it's more that I don't like you being in my brain.

Umm, so do you guys just not listen to Jazz ? I was just skimming through the OP to see what all y'all have picked, and I couldn't help but notice that it's well over 200 albums now and as far as I can tell not a single Jazz album has been selected.
Not that I really care or anything (I'm only a casual Jazz fan myself). Just saying that it seems like everyone in here has at least decent taste, and your missing out if you've never given any of the Jazz greats a proper chance.

I like jazz in the sense that I really appreciate talented jazz musicians and what they bring to the music world.
But I don't tend to choose to listen to it on my own accord, and I find it way more captivating live than listening to it on track. I have taken the approach of snagging albums that I personally really love/mean something to me, so I suppose that's why I don't have any jazz albums as of now: I'm a very casual listener of the genre.

I was just a little surprised that none of the jazz classics like Kind of Blue, A Love Supreme, Mingus Ah Um, The Shape of Jazz to Come, Bitches Brew, etc. hadn't been picked. I would've figured after 20 something rounds at least one of those would have been snagged. Those are just essential records to me, and like I said I'm really a pretty causal Jazz fan.
I understand why though, like Rummy said, people are going to pick stuff that is special to them.
