Okay, I'm getting overly excited. So let's discuss who we think is going to be playing the party this year? I'm hoping for Allen Stone or Flux Capacitor.
Flux Capacitor or Lettuce would be great. But Thursday is already so stacked for me that I'll have to eat, drink and dance my way right out of that pre-party unfortunately.

That is what we did. I don't even remember who was playing because we ate, drank and rolled out.

Thoughts? Ideas??
I'd like Allen Stone or Brett Dennen to fix the ginger schedule showdown I have going on.

I saw Brett last month, opened for Avett Brothers. Not a fan. He was very awkward. Maybe an off night for him.

I can see that! He's even awkward to just look at as mean as that sounds. But I would love to hear Wild Child in the hot Tennessee sun with a little breeze blowing through my hair. At least that's how I always imagined it!

Last year the email that announced it was Jon Cleary came on Tuesday the week of Roo. Hope we get it tomorrow. I dont think it will be Allen Stone although that was my hope as well to help alleviate the Stone/Andra Day/Brett Dennen conflict. With Allen Stone being in the Superjam, I dont think he will play Thursday night, then Friday afternoon, then again at the Superjam. Dare to dream!!

I think Nikki Bluhm did something like this a few years back, there is still hope!

Must be a super surprise or Live Nation is squeezing us yet again. "VIP performance- F*** that. Those entitled ass clowns don't need their own show."- in my best suited up D-bag voice.

Yesterday was the first day I had this concern. Doubt its a super surprise.
Karaoke only no free beer that I found. Food was horrible. The VIP package has been extremely watered down. No secondary access near the What stage any longer is another missing link. I'm begining to see us saving a lot of money by doing GA when the permanent showers are up and running. You can buy a lot of showers for $600!
As for VIP attendance, all i know is that they gave away the two luxury tents next to us at a bar in Nashville Friday night. They actually got the VIP experience we all thought we were getting LOL

The free beer was inside the VIP tent at the bar, unlike the outside stand they usually have, but there was definitely free beer. Food was almost identical to last year, pretty bland/average but I have a policy of spending $0 on Thursday, so it worked for me. No band was a huge letdown. Although, there were surprise pop up performances throughout the weekend. I didn't manage to catch any of them, but I do know that Allen Stone and Brett Dennen for sure performed in VIP...not sure about anyone else. I was camped pretty close to where that What stage entrance used to be and I REALLY was bummed that was gone. Also, the VIP area at Which stage (and What too, I think) were much smaller this year. I used to be able to get a lot closer to the stage than I could this year. There were a couple shows where I went to the GA pit instead. I do feel that VIP is becoming less worth it as improvements are made elsewhere, but I also fear the one time I don't do it, I end up in the farthest pod with a gnarly walk on the hottest year.

I loved the double camping spots, but like you mentioned the second entrance by the What stage being gone really sucked. The Which VIP tent had to be redesigned since they moved the fence line inward on both sides. I missed the front yard viewing area, I didn't like it on the side or back where you couldn't see the stage. Jeremy was really upset with a bunch of stuff this year in VIP as well. The lack of a Thursday night band, they cheaped out on the ice cream they offered this year. They reduced the amount of bathrooms and had AC issues in others; there were lines for the boys every morning. Nothing was horrible but the cut corners were overly noticeable. Jeremy says they have one more year and if things don't improve in VIP and they add permanent showers/bathrooms in GA we might just do that.

I agree to all of the points being made. GA v VIP was our exact convo on Monday morning while taking down camp. Permanent showers and we will most likely make the switch to GA. The value of VIP was just not there this year.

Although I didn't see any cops and didn't hear of any thefts in VIP so that would be an added benefit.
Since you bring it up, one of our people in our group brought 3 new members (douches and she wasn't happy about it and didn't know the two were coming until they loaded up), they all got popped in VIP by undercovers and received citations. Of course they are morons, and loudly advertised that they had drugs since that is why they got popped. The cops threatened to get a warrant and search all of our campsites (and take us all to jail) if they didn't let them search theirs. I didn't even know these dudes, they weren't even near my campsite and I thought that sounded extremely shady. How are you going to get a warrant to search our shit, when we don't even know those dudes? Also, I wasn't even around when this went down, but it all seemed sketch. They apparently had other friends somewhere in VIP as well, that all ended up getting citations as well.
Once again, these dudes were dumb (one carried a pineapple the whole time and kept saying he was famous because he was on the Shaky Beats big screen), young and obnoxious. They are not allowed to ever camp with us again.
