The Weeknd and Cole are both acts I wouldn't go to a show of just them. But if they were at fests I would pop my head in. Honestly, not much of a change on my end. I was worried that Weeknd fans would be bummed; and I am seeing a little of that. But I am seeing far more people really happy about the switch.

Pretty sure the change is what held the schedule up. I would imagine itll be out by Tuesday at the latest.

It's fine that this change happened, but now there's no reason to release the schedule. It's not like they have to change a million things around. J Cole should go right into Weeknd's spot, and everything else should be set already.

Really? I see a whoooole lot of anger and people asking for refunds. It's okay to be biased but try to keep a shred of credibility.

Adam Cohen This is unbelievable. Not only are you dropping a headliner a week before the festival, but you're only offering refunds to people who bought Saturday tickets. When I bought tickets (when they were first announced) only 2 day passes were available. The ability to buy single day tickets wasn't articulated and I was already locked in for purchasing the whole weekend. How can you offer refunds for Saturday tickets, but not 50% refunds (or whatever the equivalent 1-day ticket cost is) for people that bought 2-day tickets? What is the difference? It seems that a 2 day pass has afforded me nothing but inflexibility. This is such a scummy way to do business and lose future concert-goers

Lets get real though:
-Founders cannot be blamed for Weeknd suddenly pulling out. -Musical taste/quality aside, J.Cole is a more than adequate replacement headliner. -Offering refunds for Saturday passes is more than reasonable; many festivals won't even bother. Same with two day passes, where you arguably bought a ticket for the entire event rather than for one headliner.
The funny thing is, people on social media bitch about festivals all the time, sometimes for good reason and sometimes for no reason at all. It's not a big deal. But ol' Baghdad Bob here can't even handle that

When I initially said it seems like people are being overwhelmingly positive, they were. But now that I reflect back, I think the initial crop of folks didn't realize The Weeknd was dropping off, they just thought J Cole was being added. I would say its still pretty 50/50.

Between this and the Governors Ball fiasco, founders should probably just shut down. I had good faith and purchased tickets to this after being really upset about Sunday of Gov ball... and they screw everyone over again. Sure they can't help he Weeknd pulling out. But they should offer some sort of refund to people who bought two day passes.

Again, you technically bought a two day ticket for the festival rather than a particular act. I cannot think of a single major festival worldwide that offered refunds of weekend passes when one of their big headliners cancelled. These include but are not limited to Glastonbury, Roskilde, Pinkpop, and Primavera Sound.
Of course you cannot control public opinion and how it ends up affecting Founders' reputation. But in this case, they don't deserve any flack.
And it's not like it's Founder's fault for the Weeknd bailing on short notice, and it's actually good of them to even grab J. Cole to take his place. I do think that it's kind of (read: immensely) shitty that they're only offering refunds to people who purchased Saturday-only tickets. If they don't want to refund 1/2 the price of a two-day pass (which I get, because then people get a free day of music, basically) they should at least offer to exchange those 2-day passes for Sunday only tickets and refund the difference.

Yeah they did. I know because I got one.
I just looked back and didn't see anything about any refunds. Was it for a single day or two day? If you bought a two day did they give you the option to downgrade to a single day with a partial refund like suggested?
