Also, wait until the sun starts to go down before you start drinking. Heat + alcohol can be a recipe for disaster. (Also, the dehydration will lead to a killer headache.)
The whitest kid in my group is freaking out about how he will burn. I think he's bought like 6 bottles of sunscreen.
I live in sunscreen. I usually bring two bottles a day to Jazzfest and I spray whenever I feel like I am burning. So, like every 15-30 mins I am spraying myself down, I burn super easy (redhead and my Italian/Puerto Rican heritage does nothing to stop the burn). So far that method has not done me wrong. I do the same thing at the beach and pool also.

We bought rub in sunscreen so I'm going to have to be rubbing it on his sweaty neck. ew.

Fuck that, TOO much trouble. The aerosol stuff is way easier and that way I don't have to have either wait for or annoy Jeremy to rub down my back and neck.

I thought the spray wasn't allowed? If not then idk where I ever heard that.

I know that some festivals throw out spray, but Roo did not last year. One the list of things to bring in it says Sunscreen (lots of it), it doesn't say no aerosol.

FYI if you have experience with aerosol sunscreen and it works well for you, awesome. For me it's never worked quite right. Several times I've tried it and end up getting weird patchwork burns all over myself. So I stick with the lotion, which I apply no less than once every two hours.

I think because I spray myself to a glistening level is the reason I have 100% success with the stuff. I've heard others say the same, another trick is douse yourself and then rub it in, and still have someone spray your back. I do the ladder the first couple sprays and then I'm covered enough that even if I miss I'm good.
Anybody have any experience with the suntan lotion that goes on in stick format like deodorant?
i use the aveeno baby sunscreen stick on my face regularly. i keep it in my bag year round for when i'm not prepared to be in the sun, but i haven't relied solely on that for an entire day.
Hey I hate sunscreen, too and never used it. But a year ago I had a basal cell carcinoma taken off my face...so at least put some on your face since that's where many skin cancers happen.
I use the spry kind and apply it liberally then rub it in for full coverage. My problem is forgetting to reapply later in the day. I also manage to forget the back of one or both hands way more often than I should.

As an exceptionally pasty white person who's survived a couple of Roo's tell him to get a high SPF sunscreen, not a spray on but that greazy shit you gotta slather over your self and reapply every 4 hours or so. It's looking like this will be a harsh year. Drink the shit out of water and stay safe folks! Also electrolyte salts, plants don't really crave them but your body's homeostasis is kinda dependent on them, in addition to getting allot of water remember you need salts. Eat something with salt and fat in between beers.
I'm really looking forward to hearing reports from the front line this year. For all you folks going keep us abreast of how great or not quite great it is, if you can.
