Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Last year this fest had Robert Plant and Hall & Oats in there top 6. They seem to be committed to featuring throwbacks pretty heavily.
Just something to keep in mind because everyones mock on here seems to be:
Generic Rock Headliner/Arcade Fire ~ Logical rap follow up to Kendrick ~ EDM Person
I don't think this fest wants to become Hangout 2.0
Weekend - is it too early to consider Gambino for HL?
Childish was possibly the worst major rap artist I've ever seen live at Bonnaroo 2015. He was funny, but unless you're really big into R&B, that set just bit it. Joey Bada$$ at Hangout 2015 was worse, but he had an obvious excuse. Childish was just boring.

Probably all the kids waiting for Bassnectar. In fact, wasn't there a big fuss about that? The kids camping for Nectar were just laying around at the front when folks that actually wanted to listen to Robert Plant were trying to get close and they wouldn't let them near?
At Forest they were 3 deep by noon-thirty. Bassnectar went on at like 12:30 (as in 12 hours later). I still can't get over how infuriated I was.
LOL. But they were all really nice at Euphoria as I posted in that festival's recap. I was in front of them :VIP fam: > :rail fam: and ended up talking to several of them throughout the waits between the Lettuce and GRiZ sets. None of them were particularly douchey or territorial. That was coming on the heels of the hate from some of the people at Okeechobee. So I was keen to watch (I've seen Bassnectar plenty of times btw, just not in the front) as it was only a few weeks after that b.s. If they take over a festival en masse (ala Bisco 2015), it's one thing. If they're just at a show at a festival and aren't pissing me off, it's another.

I really enjoyed that show. I liked 2012 more.
Aw man. I thought it was one of the most disappointing sets I've ever sat through live. Granted, I was early and waiting for Slayer to start across the way in the tent. But I love rap and see rap and hip hop acts all the time. Being particularly not fond of R&B (except Stax/Motown level shit) probably didn't help. Because there was so much singing in that material, I was let down. I liked the limited studio material I had heard prior. So I was expecting something completely different.

i loved Gambino at Hangout '14. big fan of the majority of his music too. I caught him on a few streams that year too and enjoyed them all.
I'll give him another chance sometime I guess, though I didnt otherwise have any desire to see him again. He certainly isn't a draw for me. Opinion soured at Bonnaroo and maybe it was just a different set. I think I even remember another rapper (Chance ?) coming out, and that didn't save that set either. It was between My Morning Jacket and Slayer, so I didn't expect it to compete musically. I knew that going in. But It was so modern R&B heavy and I don't listen to that at all, it turned me off. Like I said, I liked what I had heard studio prior and was expecting something harder.
Took a shot at a short mock because I'm bored and I've never done one before. I respect all of you who do these multiple times as it wasn't easy haha. I think this is leaning too strong but it was still fun to do. Based a lot on what was available this year and whose touring in the later part of this year as well.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - J. Cole - Pretty Lights w/ Live Band
Chance the Rapper - Blink 182 - The Lumineers - Flume
Cage the Elephant - Shelter (Porter Robinson and Madeon) - Schoolboy Q - Bryson Tiller - Griz
Phantogram - Run the Jewels - Big Gigantic - Young the Giant - Galantis - The Arcs
City and Colour - The Naked and Famous - Vince Staples - Glass Animals - Cherub
Danny Brown - Melanie Martinez - Reignwolf - Yeasayer - Cashmere Cat - Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals Oh Wonder - Matoma - Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaire - Jack Garratt - The Front Bottoms - Bob Moses - Joey Purp PoWow! Magnificant Coloring Night w/ Chance and Friends

Seems pretty realistic although there is a 0 percent chance I go if this is it. Bonus points for the creativity with the PoWow!
Also - I really don't think Pretty Lights is a Top 3 headliner. The Meadows is a first year, similar-sized 2 day festival that blew most of their budget on Kanye and Pretty Lights is billed 9th.

It depends on the Festival. Many people might be 1 on x and whatever on y. It's not always based on size of the festival either though sometimes that matters. I think genre based festivals it shows up more. Meadows has the worst Top 10 lineup of any major festival I've ever seen (at least whild PL was blacked out). Appeal is to pop and wimp pop with a couple of honest acts up there. But Kygo, Weeknd, 1975, Empire of the Sun, Cromeo, etc. isn't going after an eclectic crowd. They are promoting pop (including Kanye, Chance. Seriously., B0RNS is 4th row. That was way down the line at Buku which Pretty Lights headlined over Cudi, Future, etc.
It depends. But Pretty Lights is Top 6ish on almost any major festival lineup where he's being featured. Man, I went back and looked at the Meadows Lineup. I doubt I'd go if I lived in the Meadowlands without a free ticket. Ouch that's bad. People love Kanye or whatever, I don't.
As esteban said, I've seen Pretty Lights thrown everywhere on posters. I also thought he would have a lot of name recognition with the type of crowd that is going to this and so went with it.
Also RedFrogintern, funny thing is, I wanted to throw more alt/indi/rock on there. I just tried to avoid bias so went light. I'd be very happy if there was a lot more than what I put on this.
Personally this lineup would be ok for me. I wouldn't go out of my way to hit the festival, but if I had a friend or two that were interested and timing worked out, I'd probably give it a go.
Flume and Chance would definitely be billed over PL.
Chance and PL were interchangeable at 3 or 4 for me. I just didn't want two rappers on the top line next to each other. Flume over PL though? I like Flume way more, but wouldn't think that he has the name recognition of PL, even with his new album sticking him high up on lineups this year.

Flume has pretty sold out his tour of medium to large venues, one of his singles charted on Billboard and he drew huge crowds at festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza.

Looks pretty realistic actually. Pretty Lights is just so tough to judge because he could literally fall anywhere on that lineup between 3 and 10. Shelter is also something that SHOULD be billed super high because it will be an absolutely incredible show but will likely wall between 12-20 because Porter/Madeon don't have a crazy-traveling fan base. I wouldn't be a big fan of this lineup but it looks more realistic then most. With that being said, weren't Big G and Phatogram there last year? I'd expect someone like Griz to fill Big G's spot.
Shiiittttt I actually looked at last years lineup to avoid repeats too. Don't know how I missed Big G on there. As far as phantogram, big grams was there but phantogram is already beginning to tour off a new album. Wouldn't surprise me to see them go right back to every festival again as just themselves next year.

Phantogram is fun. Solid throw in type festival act that you can be excited about seeing but not feel particularly upset if you miss. By the way I hope Sleigh Bells hits the festival circuit next year. I love them. Mucho fun.

as someone who's part of it. Porter 100% has a crazy traveling fan base, it's ridiculous.

really!? I guess I never realized. Also didn't notice any large groups of Porter fanatics at Forest (then again any group of fans pale in comparison to the obnoxious quantities of Bassheads. Also were stuck with HDYNATION so we had the worst of the worst.
Going off of this here are a few predictions for headliners that makes get fit this mold:
MMJ Vampire Weekend Beck
I truly doubt RHCP is one of the headliners bc of a few things, one they're doing a proper NA TOUR in 2017 plus they have sold out Florida shows the last three tours. I don't see them doing one show in Fl when they can play at least three and make 2-3x as much $$ plus I doubt LN or AEG would want to miss out on that$$. RHCP is one of few sure fire sell outs in Florida arenas for rock bands.
Be a bummer if Arcade Fire dips. I hope they finally play a true show in Florida. Only two to date and both were Reflektor club shows. Was at both and they were amazing.
Honestly an obvious headliner that I almost put on there instead of RHCP was The Killers. I know they are stale but they are one of the easiest bookings you can make. They will play for anybody that will pay them, have a catalogue of hits that appeal to the target demographic, and can be easily slotted at number one on name recognition alone.
Worst case scenario that I'm dreading is Kings of Leon, but I'm hoping that they wouldn't be that cynical.

killers aren't the best possible booking, but they still do put on a really fun show regardless. i would be pleased if they were on the lineup (as long as they aren't the #1.)SaveSave
