It's not on that site, but I watched "Shut Up and Play the Hits" on Vice last week. I'd never seen it, because of course I'd never heard of LCD Soundsystem until the appeared on the lineup. I really enjoyed watching it. My fave music documentaries are "Muscle Shoals" and "Twenty Feet from Stardom"

New Oasis film Supersonic is very well done. Lots of documentaries (even Ron Howard's excellent "Eight Days a Week") seem to skim the surface and just tell the story of the band. Supersonic is more patient though and dives deeper into the 3 year period where they rose to prominence and includes amazing footage and access to tell the story from many perspectives. Probably doesn't hurt that I knew more about their music and the tabloid stuff than the real story of their existence and rise to fame but I'm grateful for having gained that knowledge from watching the film.
Organized Noize on Netflix is great. Its a 2 hour documentary about Organized Noize (Rico Wade, Sleepy Brown, Ray Murray) and the first hour is almost exclusively featuring Outkast and the whole Dungeon Mob/Goodie Mob. I found out they produced Waterfalls by TLC in this documentary Then obviously Daft Punk Unchained is dope as well.
I'm not a fan of Americana/Folk, but the documentary "May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers" made me a fan of them. If you love music, check this out. HBO is on point once again with a well put together story, and excellent footage of a hugely underrated singer/songwriter combo in Seth and Scott.
Some of my personal favorites: Searching for Sugarman, Heavy Metal Parking Lot, Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, Anvil! The Story of Anvil, Sound City, All Things Must Pass, Heavy Metal in Baghdad, 20 Feet From Stardom, Plaster Caster, Beatles Anthology, The Doors: When You're Strange, Glastopia, Coachella - The Film, Gimme Danger, The Defiant Ones, The Fearless Freaks, Shut Up and Play the Hits, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage, Some Kind of Monster, Mr. Blue Sky The Story Of Jeff Lynne & ELO, The History of Rock and Roll, Hype!, Montage of Heck, Jaco, The Last Waltz

I've seen 20 Feet From Stardom, Coachella, The Defiant Ones, Shut Up And Play The Hits, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage, Montage of Heck, and The Last Waltz.
All great except Montage of Heck which I wasn't a big fan of. Too artsy with all the drawings and such for my taste, plus King Buzzo said most of the stories of Kurt as a teenager were bullshit.
As I've said elsewhere The Defiant Ones is the best music doc I've ever seen. Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage is a must watch, great even for people that aren't big Rush fans. And if you haven't seen The Last Waltz you should be banned from Inforoo.
Muscle Shoals is also mandatory viewing for any fan of music (RIP Rick Hall).
A doc that doesn't get enough attention is Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Directed by and starring Sam Dunn, same guy who did Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage (which I just learned, per his wikipedia page). Headbanger's Journey traces the history of metal from an anthropological/cultural perspective. It's very well done and a lot of fun for fans of metal, and I think a great introduction to the genre for those who never "got it". Lots of great interviews with metal legends. Unfortunately I don't think it's available streaming anywhere, I first saw it via Netflix DVD a while ago and bought it soon after.
Also, need to highlight what is likely the greatest music doc of all time.
One in which a rising blues player had to cut heads to keep himself and the late, great Willie Brown out of Hell.
Crossroads! Very underrated film. You can actually visit the real crossroads site in the middle of Clarksdale, MS. I recommend anyone that loves the blues, visit this small town. And stop by Groundzero Blues Club, and say hi to Ashley and her mom Cookie who manage the place.

This town is only a few hours from me. Thanks for the info - definitely need to check this out.

Saw this series last year on tv and it's amazing how informative it was.
this was great! really informative and well executed. i like how the creator uses his personal story with dubstep as a framing device to explore the history of the genre. i learned a lot and discovered some killer tunes. it's been a while since i listened to any original dubstep and i forgot how satisfying it is.
my first exposure to dubstep was that caspa/rusko FabricLive.37 they talk about. it was new to me at the time, didn't realize how super late i was to the party.
