Btw, I think this guys is lame, but to act as if Bonnaroo isn't paying up when they ponied up for the headliners they did is kind of meh. I'm still going to wait for the full release before passing judgement. I'm also assuming these DJs are cheap as shit. Lines 2-6 are what will make or break this for me.

Member in 2015....when we had a Tears for Fears and Glass Animals clue. Oh I member :-)
This EDM is lower quality than what we had in 2016. I can't believe I'm actually hoping for Major Lazer at this point....if this is the direction they're going EDM wise. Major Lazer looks like Mozart compared to tweedle dee and tweedle dum. I wouldn't go to Major Lazer, but give us something. Geezus.
I really don't give a fuck if they book some shit bottom half EDM but if this is what the lineup is going to look like then I might just sell my ticket. That being said I'm still cautiously optimistic about the lineup as a whole.

Yeah, the optimistic side of me is thinking maybe they just have a misread on their social media audience, not their audience as a whole. So the artists they selected for clues are just meant to excite the people they think are most likely to see those clues
The pessimistic side is everything else I posted in this thread

I think it's possible they figure the top lines are good enough to bring everyone back once they release them and they are gearing these clues to the college kids. Get em whipped up into a frenzy ya know? Or maybe some of the acts are just awful. Probably the latter. The EDM was bad last year so let's hope it's just an indication of what's to come for the EDM and not the entire undercard.

Starting to believe the theory of them having multiple events on the farm throughout the year and not totally caring about bringing back the attendance to 80k+ for roo.

It would be funny if Avalanches were a clue on thurs, and everyone goes "That's a great booking, a sign of the better undercard." Then next tues follow it up with Marshmello. Lol
Y'all sound like little cry baby bitches. There are plenty of other fests out there. If you don't like what roo is doing don't go. it's as simple as that. Grow the fuck up!

More than a hundred acts will perform. Every festival has more than a couple of I dont like. These events are meant to appeal to a range of people. I dont really like NGHTMARE or Getter. But I am sure their are some college aged kids who are stoked. I wont attend those shows.
Having less conflicts is such a dumb argument lol. I mean yeah there was like 5 hours in a row on Saturday night last year where I didn't want to see anything but at least I didn't have to choose between multiple acts I would have actually enjoyed.

Well, that's one reason I skipped presale this year for the first time since 2011 or 2012. If the lineup sucks enough, I may either a) get non-VIP for the first time since 2013, or b) go on vacation that doesn't involve a music festival for the first time ever. I get my fix from Okeechobee and Hulaween, Bonnaroo is becoming a big pain in the ass and not-tier-1 lineup doesn't make it worth it. I can see the same, or better, talent closer, for less money, and not in the sweaty asscrack of June weather in Tennessee.

Yeah, it was more like, "well I guess I can go to this", which isn't really worth the trip. I'm glad this year is turning out shitty... Last year I bought a last minute ticket just for LCD and pearl jam. That won't be happening this year. I've already got 2 other festivals lined up this year instead, and neither will have the Tennessee heat. I'm the last of my old crew to go... And it hasn't been the same without them
This has really been discussed ad nauseam, but it really just boils down to Cost vs. Reward. The major costs are the actual financial cost, the travel, and the will power and physical effort needed to get through the festival. Each person will weigh this differently against what they perceive as the rewards of attending bonnaroo. But it's hard to deny that for most fans of what Roo was 3+ years ago, the costs are rising while the rewards are decreasing. It's all just a matter of where those lines cross.

I just wanna know why Roo doesn't just move their fest to the following weekend. The weekend of Roo directly conflicts with the European fest circuit....so unless there's some other reason I'm missing, why don't they just move it to the following weekend and have more acts available.

I've been wondering for a while, how much travel affects the opinions of different members on this board. It's a topic I've though of bringing up in the headliner thread a few times. It's so easy for me to get to Roo that it just needs a couple of key acts to make it worth it. At the same time, I can't imagine coming from the west coast or making a 10+ hour drive for last year. Lollapalooza east is fine for someone like me that is a state away. I completely understand if that is unapealing to others that have to fly or take a multi day road trip to make it work.
Is it bad that this just sounds like Bassnectar to me?
Yes cause this isn't even close to BN. It's bs that 90% of other young djs play in their sets. Bassnectar would probably save the edm lineup at this point.

(because those aren't the kind of acts they're really concerned with booking)
