I'm surprised King Gizz only got 1 vote. I think I saw it in quite a few HM's. It was a close one between that and ATW for me.
It's a level of competition thing. Too many great releases for the month. The vote spread speaks to this. What I find funny is that wasn't February 2016 the month Moodymann's DJ Kicks won?
Listening to this "English Tapas" album by Sleaford Mods. I've never heard of these guys before, but I'm enjoying this record. I'm pretty sure it's just a bass guitar and some kind of drums, the occasional guitar note, and a very british vocalist ranting about whatever over the instruments. very minimal but strangely hypnotic.
I enjoyed it, but I just loved Welcome The Worms so much. It's sort of going back to Ride Your Heart. So, it's solid, but there's nothing revelatory there.

It's good but not their best, imo. Dig into the older stuff. Divide & Exit is probably my favorite.
March is only a few days old, but the new Grandaddy album that was released yesterday will probably be my favorite for the month. So glad they decided to put out another record after all this time.
Ibibio Sound Machine is pretty great. Nigerian electro pop funk. Clean sound, dancey, some great hooks but still adventurous. I think a lot of inforooers would dig this.

That sounds fantastic, will definitely check it out tonight/tomorrow.

Yeah shit is infectious. I'm not the biggest fan of language barriers in songs, but I'm really digging this.
*this record is a LOT of fun. seems like the perfect thing to just have on at a party or something
March may be a great month: Grandaddy, Laura Marling, Spoon, Mastodon, Aimee Mann, Goldfrapp, Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode, Real Estate, Rick Ross, Bob Dylan...

Oberst, Shins, Spoon, Real Estate
It's perfectly acceptable to mention Spoon a second time.
