Listened to (part of) an album called "The Beauty Between" by Kings Kaleidoscope today because I liked the cover. Didn't realize that it was a Christian album, but it sounded like Vulfpeck-lite plus a rapper that sounds a little like Kendrick/Drake. I enjoyed it for the most part. Ultimately the subject matter turned me off and the song structures were uninteresting, but they had a pretty cool sound and the project is probably worth listening to if you like that sort of thing.

Sounds like my first listen of Coloring Book
I love Chance but I can understand that criticism. I feel like if even just took off the two-minute gospel intro to "How Great" the "ew this is too religious for me" factor would have been way less from a lot of listeners.

Today's going to be a long day of music listening. All the August albums I was looking forward to dropped today: The War on Drugs, Gogol Bordello, Filthy Friends, Oh Sees, Queens of the Stone Age. I don't expect all of them to be great, but I'm going to give them all a spin.
I have so much to listen to this weekend. QOTSA was good, but not nearly as good as Grizzly Bear (to me). Still need to check out the full The War on Drugs album, too.
FYI - Apparently Susanne Sundfor has a new album out today! I loved Ten Love Songs so much. I'm really excited.

did it actually come out today? I couldn't find it and saw September 15 as another release date for it.

The release of Susanne Sundfør's Music For People In Trouble has been delayed due to unforeseen manufacturing delays. The digital and the CD will now be released on September 8th with vinyl following on September 29th. susannesundfor.com/

Well Metacritic had it as today for a release date, but her Tumblr says there were some type of manufacturing issues and now the cd/digital release date is Sept 8th. So I guess that's another big one for September

1. Brockhampton - Saturated II 2. QOTSA - Villains 3. TWoD - A Deeper Understanding 4. Iron & Wine - Beast Epic 5. Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins 6. Lil B - Black Ken 7. A$AP Ferg - Still Striving
Villains is #2 but it's a good ways behind Saturated II for me. I had never heard of Brockhampton before but that album's really, really good. TWoD was alright but I like them exponentially more live than on record. A$AP Ferg's album sucked. Still need to listen to Action Bronson, EMA, and Brand New.
