Sang beat me to it. He and I are hardcore into the ladies, which is why we end up liking a lot of the same musicians and albums.
I feel like women have definitely been making the best music.Especially in rock and singer/songwriter type stuff. Also I don't listen to a lot of electronic stuff but if there's a female voice I'm more likely to.

I mean, plenty of people in this thread clearly love female artists. I've just never had a month that was 100% dominated by woman-fronted bands. Thought it was kind of interesting.
"I'm a huge Kurt fan," Barnett says. "Smoke Ring [for My Halo] was one of my first purchases on vinyl...One of the most beautiful and luscious albums I ever heard."

All this love for female artists and no one even mentioned P!nk...smh.
I added some "P!nk" to my digital library recently and had to correct the spelling to Pink. Figured it was a mess up by plex...didn't realize it was actually spelled like that.

So?
Just a counter argument that not everyone finds Kurt that boring. Not everyone can stay awake during ambient techno.
So if King Gizz drop an album that's as good as the track they put out last night, it's entirely possible they steal this month from St. Vincent for me.

I thought Kurt Vile's last album was incredibly boring, in a bad way.
Wakin' on a Pretty Daze and Smoke ring for my halo are much better, lots of interesting stuff going on, but he never really leaves that sorta stoned mid-tempo feel.

rn I've got;
King Krule > CB&KV/St. V > A. Savage/Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith > King Khan > Daphni
but yeah Crumbling Castle was great and I could easily see that dethroning Krule
(also how about having 3 King's in my AoTM/HM list, what is this a David O. Russell movie)

Not enough Kelela. I need to get to that King Khan album though

yeah, it probably had the unfortunate spot of being one of the first things I listened to. I probably liked it as much as Daphni. Nothing special about the Khan, but if you're into garage at all (more for everyone else, you seem to be into it, posting in desert daze and what have you) it's a really solid 30 minute record.
