I thought this years was too, enough to get me to NYC from FL at least.
This year's lineup was amazing, probably the festival I regret missing the most this year.
After Friday and Frank it was DEAD too. I rode the rail for Andrew McMahon/Glass Animals/ATCQ and it was one of the best times I've ever had at a fest, I would have stayed in for NIN too but wanted to see Justice, which was totally worth it. Went back for NIN in the back of their field though and it was great.
They also had the best screens of any fest I've been to.

I believe the Panorama Main Stage was also the Coachella Main Stage, so I feel you on those screens.

Still bummed that Justice set was so short/botched.

Agreed, it did work out though because it allowed me to get from the front of ATCQ and still see a lot of their set.
They use better tents too, they were able to create darkness during the day in that tent, Bonnaroo's are always really bright
Other than Neil Young or Jack White, who could actually fill that other HL spot?
Twenty One Pilots, Skrillex, Gambino, Imagine Dragons, The Who, Metallica, The Strokes, Florence, Arctic Monkeys, Calvin Harris, Lana, Depeche Mode, Frank, Jay Z, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, Mumford, Tool, NIN, ect.
The only one of those I could see being paired with Em and The Killers and actually taking at least a #3 would be The Who, Coldplay, Frank, Stevie Wonder or Calvin Harris.
