I really enjoyed Gambino's first mixtape, Culdesac. It has some pretty good punchlines on it. Camp and Because the Internet didn't do a whole lot for me, but I enjoyed Awaken My Love. When it comes to his music, he's always seemed to me like one of those people who could be an absolute legend IF he was just a bit more talented. And by that I mean that he has creative ideas and an incredible work ethic and I think he truly does approach his music as an overall artist and not just a rapper, but there's a certain ceiling that he can't overcome, so his projects tend to be just good and not great. Sometimes very good... But still not great. He has moments of brilliance but I don't seem him sustaining that brilliance over the course of an entire project. It almost makes me feel bad for him because I think he's THIS CLOSE to being where he wants to be...but he just can't break through. A lot of good ideas but flawed execution.
I loved the first few seasons of community and 30 rock, though I haven't seen Atlanta. And his stand-up was just okay.
culdasac is great but isn't his frist. Sick Boi and like two others were before. And I'm the opposite. I really fell in love with him when he dropped Camp, played album all the way through everyday. Still his best. And because the Internet is amazing. Really not a fan of the last two he's gone downhill.
It was the first one I listened to, therefore I consider it his first.

Just 'cause your "belief/opinion" tells you how to feel doesn't make it true. Actual facts (and in this case, documentable release history) make your "belief/opinion" untrue. Just because Camp was the first release I listened to doesn't make it the debut of Childish Gambino.

Guys, guys.. This is the 2018 Bonnaroo Headliner Thread. We're supposed to talk about artists that might headline Bonnaroo next year, like Calvin Harris.
Eminem. I want my friends to leave with cigar burns from the dudes behind us. Also down for having my calves occasionally splashed by what may be a warm bottle of piss/beer.

As a liberal gatorade bottle user, I am offended that you think I would only relieve myself at Eminem.
Saw him at Lolla and the production was worthess, he barely rapped the lyrics (backtrack playing the whole time), partial songs, just nothing great about it at all.

Rolling Stones - Calvin Harris - The Killers - Frank Ocean - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Give me 5 or 6 of the following to fill out the top 20/25 and I'd be feeling pretty good about this
QOTSA MMJ Anderson Paak Grizzly Bear Erykah Badu Tyler, the Creator Brand New The War On Drugs Willie Nelson Flying Lotus Ryan Adams Run the Jewels Spoon

Those 6 seem possible.
Also, you will get ODESZA and you will like it
ODESZA's probably the safest bet you could make for next year.
You're probably right about most of those. YYYs would probably fill their quota for top 10 indie/rock. I'll hold out hope fro Brand New. They're playing Voodoo, which is Live Nation/C3. Speaking of which, wouldn't surprise me to see Prophets of Rage on the lineup.

And most of them have been to Roo within the past few years I really hope Anderson Paak gets booked though
