I'd be shocked to see any hard rock act not named Metallica in the top 5.
This is wrong. They won't book them, but Tool and Iron Maiden. GnR would be number 1. And regardless of what you think NIN wouldn't be lower than 4. Edit: I said they wouldn't book Tool because the already have but that comment was more geared for Maiden. Edit edit: SoaD, Smashing Pumpkins original lineup, and A Perfect Circle would both probably be top 6.
I'm thinking more along the lines of NIN, Tool, Rage, Iron Maiden, etc....
That's not to suggest they aren't worthy or that I wouldn't like them (I'd love Tool/NIN Sat at 11pm What Stage), I just don't see Bonnaroo dropping the coin to bring acts like that to the Farm when the heaviest thing they booked last year was... Royal Blood?
Totally forgot they were booked for the Roo site but it fell through. Being put as a #1 the following year on Roo's lineup makes a pile of sense. That's it -we got our #1 lets move on now
Rolling Stones could also happen. Would put the final nail in the coffin of the Roo undercard if it were to happen however.
Rolling Stones would probably be more on-brand for Roo than GnR. I think the impact on the undercard would be similar to U2, but it's not like booking a less expensive #1 this year would've dramatically improved the lineup.
It's pretty sad, but at this point I just don't care about Bonnaroo at all.
I have a mild interest from a "can't stop looking at a car crash" point of view. I'm curious how far the rabbit hole the EDM and late night butchering goes.

That's basically what I was thinking. Rolling Stones probably aren't that much more expensive than U2 and they're certainly a lot less controversial. People will actually show up to their headlining performance.

If Roo goes for a get like the Stones, they really need it be somewhat exclusive. I'm sure if U2 hadn't also been doing a massive summer tour, their booking would've had a bigger impact. Even making Roo the tour-opener would've at least gotten the performance more attention
Funny thing is that I would be elated with this, but very disappointed if Lana was #4. To have that threesome up top, I think you have to have a strong 4.
Would it not be Frank as #3 and Killers as #4 at this point?

I'm only interested because it's the fulcrum inforoo revolves around. I used to get upset that people who didn't even go to Bonnaroo anymore hung around here just to bash on it. Yet here I find myself.
And after experiencing Movement, it's really hard to come up with a viable Bonnaroo 2018 lineup that gets me back to Manchester. I mean even if it was objectively pretty good I still probably wouldn't go.
