But now it's another faceless Live Nation franchise. Such a shame.
To be fair, even under LiveNation, Roo still hasn't completely abandoned its jam roots.
They don't book nearly as many of those acts as they used to. But just this year they had Turkuaz; who is starting to develop a pretty strong following in that scene, and Roo was probably the highest profile fest they played this year.
And they were the only fest that could and would book Dead & Co. Actually felt like this year actually had a fair amount of jam-oriented stuff on the lineup.

They just need to have a Jam band hit one of the tents each late night and roll until they are tired - that alone would make so many people happy it seems like a no brainer

Honestly just going off gut feeling. Assuming the lineup is in line with 2017, MMJ still feel like they'd gel whereas Wilco fall a bit too far into the dad-rock category.
Also if we're talking about next year specifically there's just the practicality that it's more likely MMJ have a new album than Wilco. If we're talking "ever again" I think it'll always be a possibility that Wilco gets booked, just not all that likely with the way things are going at present.

Also they just need to have a great lineup
I'd argue they've had one every year.... 2017 was my 2nd favorite behind 2014.

it's absolutely ridiculous to argue that the Bonnaroo Lineup in 2017 was a great lineup. It's just not. Nothing that happens in the future with bands blowing up or whatever is going to change the atrocity that was the lineup and scheduling of 2017.
You guys just don't know about vibes. The point is to meet up with buddies, pay for travel, settle for less, pay an inflated ticket price (as well as camping), and deal with sets being shorter and ending earlier. Cause we just love roo.

I loved it - 2nd best roo I've been to yet. Sorry you didn't enjoy it.

Escape from reality and forget about the real world for a couple of days while sweating my balls off.

For me: 2014 >>>>> 2017 >>> 2016 > 2015
Yeah but take a look back through history at the lineups that preceded them...if you still think that lineup holds up, then that's just always going to be a stark difference in opinion.
Not a hater, I wish I loved every Bonnaroo lineup and spent every June sweating my balls over in Tennessee

I think this years was a step up from 2016 and not nearly as bad as people here make it out. I don't think it comes close to the lineups from 2009-2014 though.

Yup, I'm aware there are some incredible years predating my time at Bonnaroo, most notably 2012 and 2013 for my tastes. I consider those lineups legendary.
I don't think 2017 was legendary by any means, but I do think it was a great lineup that I enjoyed a ton. It was certainly my favorite since 2014.
