Tennessee's fanbase will tear him apart if he gets the job. I really wanted the Schiano outburst to be the end of things, but I see it getting worse if they hire Doeren.

At this point, just tell the next guy to have a spot for Jason Witten on his coaching staff, try to poach Tee to run the offense, and leave a spot for Manning if he decides he wants to coach (which seems not very likely). Then when you have to fire Doeren (or generic "next Tennessee coach") you'll be ready to promote someone on staff who played there and understands what it means to be all Vol.

I'm almost starting to feel sorry for you. It's going past being funny.

You know things are getting bad if Sang feels sorry for an SEC team. For me, it just seems like there is less chance of a positive outcome each day that goes by. At this point, I can't really think of a way out for Currie that makes people happy.

They had better options. There's no way he survives this.
I feel like Tennessee would best that money wise at least.
You win?
Oh no. I meant it much more as a statement of regarding the thought process of current administration and their bank roll rather than it actually being a recommendation that they pull the money truck up to his house. Like Snowman said, riots.

I mean you win because you can give him more money. But do you really win?

Yeah. Probably 6 or 7 whole games a year. That's exciting, right?

Tomorrow is the nine year anniversary of Lane Kiffin being announced as Tennessee's head coach. Maybe all this insanity is a prelude to him coming back nine years to the day.

I would support this if he comes out with the NWO music playing.

Tee Martin is in L.A. I'll take either of them. As I saw on Twitter earlier, you have to admit that Mike Leach is one of the few coaches who could match Tennessee's level of crazy. We may not win in the long term, but it'd be a fun time regardless.

Mike Leach would/will be a great fit. He's probably the only man on the planet willing to embrace the craziness of everything that happens in Knoxville, and I think the fans will be very supportive of him because of that. Undoubtedly a much, much better than Schiano.

In reading about Mike Leach, getting ready for the potential hire, I stumbled across Andy Staples from SI, he wrote a piece in September or so about Leach and his dream job, which was coaching at Key West High in Florida. A crucial question thus entered my mind, and I need anyone who knows anything about Florida high school football to address this for me...
Who does Key West High play? They are like 3.5 hours from Miami. Do they bus to games? Fly? How early do they have to leave? I have so many questions about this.

How am I not surprised that his dream job is to coach a high school team?
My initial top 3 was Mullen, Frost or Leach, so if the sh*tshow of the past week results in Leach, I’m happy. He could just be looking for a pay bump at his current job, though, which has been the only productive part of UT’s coaching search so far.
