Went to my first peach last year and loved it. Always wondered if the flaming lips would fit. I doubt they’d headline but I think a latenight peach stage show would be amazing from them. Also wondering when if ever this or lockn could or would book something like flying lotus. Maybe these fests never veer into something electronic no matter how psychedelic it is

Peach does the Jamtronica but I doubt they get much into the Fly Lo type stuff or hip hop crossovers. I think Zoogma is about as close as we'd get to that at Peach and could see them returning this year. Did you camp?
Also, I know nothing of the lineup, just doubt the Dead and Co. stuff. If true, I'd be ecstatic.
Edit: Lockn' did have that DJ Logic/Bob Weir late night super VP set. That was pretty sweet (from the videos, I couldn't ever afford SVIP).
Guess it is almost time to start the 2018 thread. Early bird/blind faith tickets always went on sale in mid-December before last year. Lineup for 2015/2016 came up first week of February so still some time to go.

Phish is not in play as they will be doing their own fest at Watkins Glenn a week or two before Peach. Maybe some classic legacy headliners like Neil Young, Steve Winwood, Bob Seger, John Fogerty, Jethro Tull 50th (would they be a headliner?), maybe some version of Bobby (hopefully Ratdog) as he has a long standing connection with the fest. Possibly TTB if Derek wants to get past his ties to the ABB. I talked to Derek at Peach 2014 and he loved the venue and crowd but he has distanced himself from that the past few years.

Yeah Pigeons was definitely during the downpour right before MMJ. It was a great set though. I caught a couple songs of Dopapod but the group went back to camp so I listened to the rest from there. I love sitting on the mountain and being able to hear those sets when everyone else is crashing.
Vinnie the Eel did you end up going last year? I never met up with you at anything we went to (although I didn't end up meeting up with anyone except Pigeons Flock at Lockn) and didn't see a review here. Would be interested in your thoughts.
Oh man, this is tough for me. Yes, I ended up going to Peach. My thoughts:
1) Camping is a BEAR. I was fine, but my wife was destroyed. I guess we got there too late and our wagon driver just basically took us to one place and said this is it, get off. We were way at the top of the mountain. She just hated life. We were able to stay dry (unlike a lot of our neighbors) but that walk back and forth to the venue was just rough.
2) I loved the 2nd stage, with the wave pool. Honestly, if we went again, I'd probably just go GA, early bird $99, and just hang out there the whole weekend unless something shocking was going on at the main venue that I couldn't miss.
3) I hated that they sold beer and stuff that you couldn't bring into the main venue. That's a Live Nation thing, I know, but that's effed up.
4) We had a lot of problems with the main venue. I went VIP (for my wife's comfort) and I was really upset that we didn't get any input on choosing our seats. We purchased immediately on early bird and our seat was way in the back left in an accessible area which meant that we never really had an assigned seat (my main perk in doing VIP). I was P/O'd about that, told CID, and they were basically like, just fill in the middle and move if anyone comes for that seat. Oh thanks, that's nice considering I dropped a lot of money specifically for a seat, but whatever. That basically gave me a sour taste in my mouth and kept me from enjoying the music because I was either a) always moving for someone or b) worried someone was gonna make me move because I was in their seat.
All that said, I'd go back, but probably for what I listed in #2. My wife would never go back with me. She absolutely had an awful time and we ended up leaving on Sunday morning.

This year we mostly hung on the lawn at the main stage. Camping is definitely difficult getting in/out. I have done the arrive later and end up on the top of the mountain. It is a workout and then some. The beer between stages has always been an issue. It is because they have different liquor licenses and in PA you are not allowed to bring beverages off site. I have gotten used to it but it would have been nice to bring some of those Founders 15 packs we brought down for the shows there.

Yeah, I was just shocked by CID's response to us...I've never had them react that way before. It is what it is. At Lockn', they were great. It was cool to basically not be searched to get into the 2nd stage area.

This was my first Peach as well but far from my first festival. I choose festivals based on lineups and this years Peach was the winner for my group of friends. I was used to the mountain camping from prior mountain jams.. but it really does suck. We were pretty high up and the hike definitely makes you more willing to miss performances you originally wanted to see. For point 3, that really did suck, buy a beer at one stage couldn't bring it into the main stage. I was told that was because the main stage and the rest of the venue were in two different towns so by law you couldn't cross sides with a open container. Same reason why you get searched twice, once in the main GA area, and then again entering the main stage. Minor annoyance to me.
My big issue, and it shocked even me that this was the issue I had with it, was that it was just too jammy. I love jam bands, MMJ, Mule and WSP are three of my all time favorite bands.. it just got to a point where I wanted something else. A STS9 or Lotus would have worked wonders for this fest, even maybe a DJ set by somebody late night.. I just couldn't do it anymore, ABB Tribute, into Mule, into WSP, into Umphreys.. It just got to be too much, I needed a little variety. Guess I just got bored with it towards the end.

Thats one of the biggest selling points to me. Im glad they have never had a DJ set. I love my jam and funk. They have had a lot of jamtronica though with Lotus and Papadosio playing multiple times and acts like Zoogma, etc.
I'm very happy that Peach is only a quick 20 minute jaunt from my home, but why is it so hard for them to get decent bands at this place? I was really hoping D&C would have a stop here. I mean this as a separate show, not for Peach. I swear if it wasn't for this festival, and the country acts that come by, Montage would be out of business.
What kind of collabs/sit-ins do you expect/hope for?
Expect: Phil with Midnight North Taz with Mule Nikki Bluhm with Phil & the Family Band
Hope For: Phil with moe. (after their Lockn' set last year) Warren with Dickey A big ole' mashup of the Catskill Chill bands (Turkuaz, Pigeons, Twiddle, etc.)
