This is the best Bisco lineup in years if you lean towards jam instead of electronica. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Turkuaz, The Werks, Twiddle, Lotus, etc. etc. are all normally Peach Fest bands that are crossing over to Bisco.
I'm confused...how does Forest and this get by booking Bassnectar every year? Are his shows that different that you don't mind seeing him headline every year. Remember when this fest used to book interesting lineups and had a terrible/sketchy venue? Now they book boring lineups and have a fantastic venue.
Step 2: Who cares because we will sell enough tickets with those two.
Step 3: Ok, let's get at least one interesting act. *Texts Nightwares on Wax*
Its a winning formula for them. The days of LCD, Nas, or even Passion Pit headlining this are long gone.
Oh I know, and I'd never criticize them for thinking about the dollar. It's guaranteed attendance which means guaranteed money. Ultimately growing the business by being lazy because it's demographic is lazy. Fucking genius.

I miss the terrible/sketchy venue. The mix of people on hardcore drugs and the possibility of being beaten by bikers at any minute made such a heady vibe for my fam.

Bassnectar has a pretty intense following, booking him is pretty much guaranteed ticket sales. My understanding is he does prepare unique sets for different festivals, but I could be wrong.

"I work full time on music and my career in general, but when on the road each individual set gets hours – like 5-8 hours EACH – of individual thought and preparation; fine tuning new loops or variations, or creating new remixes or rendering out new loops, or re-assembling parts so they can be improvised in new orders, or whatever… alot"

I agree. I like the balance. As I mentioned in the Peach thread, I can hit a wall if listening to the same thing all day, but the balance between it all.. it looks like a good time.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Damn this lineup is funky fantastic. Fuck I'm spending too much money this summer as it is. I'll give this a consideration but a live stream would be a nice consolation prize.

I'm considering opening a new credit card with Capital One just for 3 months of festival season to get the bonus points when I spend the x amount needed.

They didn't stream the whole festival, just the 6 Disco Biscuits shows. Still though, that's a top band to see these days in my opinion.

Looks like another no Roo year for me. Between this awesome lineup, Peach at the end of summer, and Domefest all local there is really no need to leave the state.

I really wanted to do Domefest but everyone I know (like 10+ people) are doing Susquehanna Breakdown and I am probably going to bring the family so swapped out my ticket for that instead.
How is the new (I guess it isn't really new anymore) venue? Haven't been to Bisco since the NY days.
I hear venue is great, its the camping on a ski slope that sucks apparently. Venue is at the bottom of the hill, VIP camping is on the flat of the mountain, and GA camping spots gets progressively worse the later you arrive/further you gotta go uphill on the grounds.

I think the venue is fantastic. The main stage (pavilion) does have fixed seating, which bothers some people, but I actually enjoy it as it gives you a little more space and it's great to sit down while you wait for a set to start. The pavilion also offers awesome visuals and serves as a tapestry...really trippy stuff.
I loved having the waterpark there. It was a lot of fun floating in the lazy river with my friends, bobbing our heads along to whatever was playing at the wave stage. Great mix up to the traditional festival layout.
