Yes, you can also see some of these acts if you want to travel to Fuckville, Kentucky and Shitstain, Ohio for cheap. Or you can pay more and see all of them in one of the best venues on earth.
Doesn't seem like a difficult choice for me.
Some of us live in those shitty states, and travel/lodging alone would double the $600. Nobody is saying they'd travel across the country to the Greensboro coliseum to see Maiden.

With the prices, this is going to be a very old crowd. I doubt it'll be the typical Wimmer fest crowd, it'll be the middle aged corporate bro crowd. Spending $2,000 for a weekend per person and it's resting on acts 75+ to deliver a metal performance after not having done a full set in close to 6-7 years, hope it works out!

Why is this so difficult to understand? This is basically a luxury festival at a beautiful venue with the biggest of the big metal/hard rock bands. This isn't your run of the mill shitty Danny Wimmer fest with a lame buttrock crowd. Of fucking course it's going to be expensive. It's marked up because they know people will pay for it.

going to be a crowd that will play PGA West at 11AM then head into the fest after the round.

Its supposed to cost $100 for a 3 day and that includes unlimited white claws according to inforoo. I want to see what they charge for a single day ticket if it gets to that point. Thinking $299 to make you re thinking buying a 3 day.
Desert Trip grossed $130 mil so what was cheap about it

fuck off with this Justin Chancellor erasure. 51 YEARS YOUNG BABY
Looks like tickets "start" at $599 for this. This should sell ok. ACDC will pull people from all over the globe.
Also, my advice is to not do GA at this thing. I did at Desert Trip and it was a big mistake - we felt miles away from anything and could barely see the stage. Definitely go for the floor or stands if you are going to this thing. We got super lucky on Sunday and met these lawyers from Beverly Hills in the drink line who gave me and a buddy passes from their friends who had to leave a day early. Felt like a whole different experience.
The number of people who buy the low-tier $599 GA who think they're getting up near the stage but actually end up a mile away will be treeemendous.
And with these prices, buyer's remorse and late bailers will provide all kinds of cheap secondary opportunities. There's a zero percent chance that buying face is the smart move.

I've seen several others from Reddit say they did GA at Desert Trip and it was perfectly fine. Even if it is far away, I generally watch Coachella headliner from way back in the crowd so this would probably be the same for me.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, we just were essentially watching the show in the back off of the screens because we couldn't even really see the stage. Was in a group of 6 people and everyone was pretty bummed, then me and my buddy got lucky on Sunday and it was a different experience. I have watched many a Coachella headliner toward the back of the audience; this just kind of made you feel like you were a second class citizen because all the production was aimed at the area on the floor and grandstands and we just felt like the overflow in the back. Also a much higher % of people just getting drunk and talking on blankets vs. caring about the show which bugged me, but probably won't apply as much here. Definitely wouldn't stop someone from going over it, but I think $200 to get in the main area is well worth it.
