Can I get front row to see bands like The Strokes and other headliners with GA? Is VIP worth it? Any vauable perks?
There's like 8-10 stages and only the two main stages have a vip section at the front. They also have a GA section at the front though so you can get to the front without VIP, just would involve waiting longer/depend on the show. I think it makes drinks cheaper and shorter lines a the VIP bar. priority entry to the city shows between weekends might be the best perk this year.

Yes, yes and yes, but VIP is easier to get up front due to this:
The VIP Weekend ticket also includes: Exclusive entrance to the festival site // Access to all VIP areas until full capacity is reached // Access to the exclusive viewing areas until full capacity is reached // Welcome pack.
Yeah, for context re: tix this year. My BBQ Festival ticket sales are up 170% from where they were in our biggest market in 19. And as much as I love them, they are nowhere near the scale that large music festivals are.
If there’s something you want to go to, buy it immediately and sell if you need

I know that we're not close to this point but when does the schedule normally come out for this? Is it like Coachella and they don't release it until a week or two before or does it come out earlier than that?

Yeah its a good month to 6 weeks beforehand, theyre really good about that.
booked a hotel! now to worry about tickets and flights 😅
There will be some deals. Its pre summer by just a couple weeks and youll find something. Keep an eye out on Skyscanner since they usually lean more Europe fares.
So I definitely prefer W1 to W2. But the talk of the possibility of Darkside being added to W2 makes me question my loyalty to W1. I’m sure they’d add a second side show in the middle week right? So I can still make W1 and catch them, if that even panned out?

All those venues downtown are currently booked for the middle of the week, so I would not count on that.

no idea if darkside will be added but, there are plenty of other music venues including both l'auditori and auditori forum. also barcelona doesn't have a "downtown" , the music venues they are using are are scattered across poble sec, sant marti/poble nouand the gothic quarter. luz de gas is even nw of l'eixample
