Anyways, back to Primavera. When do y'all think we could get a last and final batch of names? I was, while there were some great names in there, a little disappointed by the amount of names we only got in december.. End of january new names? Still hoping we'll get Darkside (strange they weren't added and were on the PS LA line-up).
I remember truevine saying that Darkside would tour on late 2022 so that's probably the reason why they're not here. Also, as previously mentioned, I'd say this is the final line-up albeit cancellations and not-so-last-minute drops. Reckon they signed a coupe of band just in case (no Deerhunter seems weird altough Bradford's health has always been an issue) but I wouldn't count with a band that is charging 77 pounds for a show even if Sons of Kemet are already playing and Yorke has been somewhat of a regular atendee behind the scenes.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but all my friends are currently on waiting list for tickets - will they be re released at different stages throughout the year or is that now it in terms of festival official releases?
As far as I know the waiting list on Dice and any official releases are two different things. Can't keep track of the official releases for the 2022 edition cause passes sold out a while ago so it's a matter of waiting til Dice send mail/notification letting you buy a ticket.
Edit: Sat W2 will be carnage for me too but usually Thursdays used to be the big ones.

I think it's been sporadically throughout the year
Blood Incantation 11.12 Caribou 11.13 Interpol & The Walkmen 11.23 I Am Morbid/Suffocation 11.26 King Diamond 11.29 Sadistic Intent/Massacre 11.30 70K Tons Of Metal 2025 Sick New World 2025 Maryland Deathfest 2025

Maybe, but if they pop up at Coachella, then yeah..
I hope it isn't, not that this line-up needs more.. I'm probably gonna have a loooot of conclicts, but still a lot of open gaps if you go through some clashfinders even if they're optimistically filled in. The Smile would make sense as a late addition but Coachella getting the 'premiere' of being able to announce them first. Also, we already lost a bunch of artists in the last batch - the biggest one being C. Tangana. I know they added Khay Cortez, but still.

I've already booked flights and appartement in like.. August? Did not want to deal with any of that stuff late and you never know what prices become after a while.
Gorillaz, Jorja and Tyler will def play (almost) back to back on Mordor let's say 9pm-3am (with Nick Cave between Jorja and Gorillaz). Krule could play at 8 just before Jorja but maybe way too early for him. Disclosure are closing Ray-Ban around 3am so minimal overlap with Tyler if he's closing Mordor but you have to get there from Mordor so you'd catch the second half of the brothers. Beach House should def have a prime time slot at Primavera/Ray-Ban but Gabi and co went apeshit cause they closed Mordor at 2am and last time they ended up playing at Primavera at fucking 2am again so who knows.
tl;dr: given the distances and 85k ppl inside if you go to Gorillaz + Tyler there's a pretty good chance you'll miss Beach House and (part of) Disclosure. The rest is hard to tell.
Which day is everyone most worried about conflicts for? For me, the 11th is going to be the toughest
Literally every day. I want to see like half the bands on the lineup. I think my plan is going to be seeing as many of the smaller, hard to see in the US acts on the lineup. If I miss acts like The Strokes, The National, Beck, Tame Impala, Tyler The Creator, & Interpol, so be it. I like all of them, but they're dime a dozen in the US. Headliners like Pavement, Gorillaz, Massive Attack, & Nick Cave aren't so easy to see, and there are some undercard acts where if you don't take the chance to see at Prima, you'll probably never see them.
Hardest day is probably going to be Saturday of weekend 1. Gorillaz, Bauhaus, Nick Cave, Dreamcatcher, Jawbox, Squarepusher, Einsturzende Neubauten, & The Caretaker are just so hard to see on tour, and that's not even to mention personal favorites of mine like IDLES, BCNR, Disclosure, slowthai, Tyler The Creator, & Caroline Polachek.
His position right now is nowhere close to 2019 so I guess he just changed his mind regarding his next tour (see those NA dates). Keep him for 2023 plus Kanye/Frank on the same weekend and here we go again.
Kanye/Frank/Bad Bunny would be an insanely stacked top line
Kanye is wishful thinking although with this two-weekend mode (which I hate) it may be possible now but they better make up an outstanding excuse if Frank finally goes on tour next year and he's not on the line-up after waiting for him until the last minute for the 2020 one. If they somehow end up with those three I'm pretty confident all of them would only play one weekend in order to make us buy two full passes.
Because they're so fucking far away from the main area that it seems like walking down to Mordor. Now there's another area on the other side of the venue but La Playa doesn't have the same ring as Mordor.

Yeah definitely trying to catch the harder to see acts but I feel like I already know I’m going to make a lot of decisions based how I’m feeling at any given moment. Any recs on where to start with Jawbox?

I've just been getting into them lately, but the song Static has been stuck in my head for a few days now.

Cool I’ll check it out! They’re one of the bigger blinds spots i have with the lineup.
