Gonna book our lodging this weekend, it’s gonna be just me and my girlfriend, is airbnb or hotels the better way to go? We’re gonna just stay in Barcelona for two weeks.

hotels are better and they haven't screwed over the housing market in bcn like Airbnb has

hostels sometimes have private rooms you can book too and still get some privacy while also being around other travelers/festival goers and might be cheaper than hotels. I'd still check airbnb it might be cheaper for you.

So I haven't even really done that much exploration into the undercard yet, planning to do that the next few months, so this will change. As of now:
Weekend 1
Thursday: Pavement (most anticipated set for whole fest), Massive Attack, Dinosaur Jr, Otoboke Beaver, DJ Shadow
Friday: The Strokes, The National, Little Simz, Bikini Kill, Fontaines D.C. (ngl BROCKAHMPTON was my second most anticipated set of the fest, so that was a huge L)
Saturday: Bauhaus, Gorillaz, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Dreamcatcher, Jawbox
La Ciutat: shame, King Giz, spellling, Alex Cameron, Ride (also seeing RHCP/A$AP Rocky/Thundercat)
Weekend 2
Thursday: Perfume, Dua Lipa, Playboi, Carti, Slowdive, Squid (the conflicts are going to hurt for this day
Friday: The Jesus & Mary Chain, Lorde, Run The Jewels, M.I.A., Remi Wolf
Definitely need to put in some listening for the undercard, especially the rare acts and the electronic. Kinda procrastinated around getting too attached to some of the artists until it became clearer I could actually go.
So, if I’m a complete moron who doesn’t have a passport yet- do you think it’d be too late at this point?
I'm in the same spot, applying next week. I'm planning to pay for expedited everything. From the anecdotal experiences of others I've read, it should be fine. They recommend 4-6 months before you travel, and it's about 4 months out now. You can also follow up with your state rep closer to the date and they can sometimes pull some strings to make it quicker. I wish I hadn't waited this long, but I'm both a first time international traveler in my immediate family (so had no idea how long these things take) and a major procrastinator.

Black Country, New Road have (basically) broken up (the band will stay, but Isaac the lead singer is gone). Between this and Brockhampton, I'm down my favorite band and favorite rap group and it's not even February lmao what a start to the year.

they specifically stated that they haven’t broken up and this tour date is still on the calendar

Primavera is, but the rest of the tour is gone. BCNR without Issac just won't be the same. I'm sure they can do some incredible stuff, but what made the band truly special to me was Isaac's exceptional vocal performances and emotionally vulnerable lyricism. Unless they hire a new singer to replace him, there's only about 3 songs in their whole catalog they can play. So while I'm still excited to see what the rest of the unit can do, this is basically a breakup. Without Isaac's vocal style, lyricism, and songwriting it's a completely different band.

I really like Isaac and he's a fantastic lyricist but the whole crew is very talented, just judging by the instrumentals. I'm very excited to see where they go from here

I'm definitely excited for where they can go, but as for seeing them at Primavera, this means it'll be a complete 180 of an experience. I just can't see a hired vocalist doing a lot of Isaac's songs in a live setting given how deeply personal the lyricism is. They are probably retiring most of the songs they've made to date from the live show, really brining into question what they'll perform at the fest. Instrumental is really their only song released to date that works without Isaac.
I almost kinda hope they cancel their appearance until they have a new solid base of material without Isaac. As xfinitypass is saying, I really think Isaacs vocals were half of why I enjoyed this band and I don’t know how they’ll really be able to continue playing old material when it was so deeply personal to Isaac. My hope is that they either find a new vocalist to record an album with or that they record an instrumental record.
