MagBay deserved so much better than this show man. What a dissappointment. Drums wat to loud, Mica's microphone that didnt work and after she pulled the mic from the stander it still was to quiet on top of that, you couldnt hear synths at all. And the crowd was so chatty and lame, gah. Was so hard looking forward to this show..
Interesting, they sounded terrible at SXSW too. Hope it improved as the night went on...
Magdalena Bay sounded way better at their club show earlier this year for sure. i do wish they got rid of their drummer though, live drums detracts more than it adds for their sound imo

Yeah felt awful for Magdalena Bay at the start but they seemed pretty happy by the end. Ride were nice and loud. Khruangbin killed it. I’m a total simp for Laura Lee, her bass playing was immaculate and she shook her tush on the side of the stage I was near multiple times.
But the real stars were Phoenix. Goddamn were they good. Huge high school/college nostalgia, felt like I was ten years younger watching them.
Also incredibly beautiful venue. I wish I could have seen more shows there.

Sounds like a blast. It sucks they clash with jessie ware at the festival
The bass for Khruangbin was mixed in way to loud, could barely hear any Mark Speer. Idk if its the technical guys doing the wrong thing here, but the sound at MagBay, Pom Pom Squad and Khruangbin was just off. Ride was great.
And idk why did they did that cover round, but that just felt ridiculous. They wanted to do both the loud and the quite, psychedelic thing. It just didn't work.
Glad I left for Nyege Nyege Tapes, that shit was dope. High energy and big love vibe going on. Saw MC Yallah & Debmaster, Otim Alpha, DJ Diaki, DJ Travella and Turkana. Amazing night.

2manydjs got moved to Tous Bits after Charli so that kinda sucks because Bicep into 2manydjs on Cupra sounded awesome but hey Gizz > Charli > 2manydjs on a stage sounds pretty insane also.

If 5 comes through with some of the stuff they have left in the tank it will be tops easily for me. Crumbling Castle, Murder, Evilest Man, Rattlesnake is great for me.

Yeah going with Jessie now but can’t go wrong between the two.
Yeah this brunch thing is really not cool. The ticket says it's included. Little to no communication about the RSVP beforehand. Booked an extra night at the hotel to stay through Monday and two of my top ten were that day. Monolink and Gou were important names in buying my ticket. Just totally Bush league for an organization that's trying to run six festivals in three continents soon. Undermines everything they say, pretty much. The ticket selection page advertised it as included with W1+2, and they did not make it clear that we would need to RSVP. If anyone would know about that it would be those of us who live on Inforoo.

Yeah I still think I'm coming back because my mom wants to see Barcelona and Madrid next year (she retires at the end of the school year) but this is the sort of thing that will make me weigh going to Sonar or Glasto or Fuji Rock or some other experience over PS in the future. Not letting it get me down too much but very disappointing. Guess I don't have to budget for as much beer now.
My mom would kill me if I took her to a festival halfway around the world and there was no water.
Oh she just wants to see Spain, she's not going to the festival. She doesn't like very much music and after last Thursday I probably wouldn't let her anyway like you're saying.

The cover portion was the only good thing about that Khruangbin set. Band is v boring.
They posted maybe an hour ago that rsvp was open, and now it’s sold out. The instagram comments are pressed.
You really can't make this shit up. Unbelievable. I'm not coming back.
I love Barcelona and will come back to the city again, but I think i'm done with Primavera after this weekend unless they pull like an exclusive R.E.M. reunion or something. Maybe i'll try Sonar some year.
