Budos Band is playing Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on 12/30 and 12/31.
12/30 - with Electric Citizen and The Nude Party 12/31 - with Electric Citizen and EVOLFO
FWIW the 12/31 show also features DJ sets from Sunflower Bean, Mikey Post, and Breanna Barbara. And EVOLFO are cool dudes, fun music. Probably going to be a blast, but also way too pricey

Too bad I don’t live in BK. Last time I saw Budos I believe was at Fun Fun Fun and those motherfuckers were pumped that Slayer was playing later in the day.

Longinus (semi-RIP) hooked us into them for Bear Creek 2014. Unreal.
Just walked a couple miles from The Joy to see Exmag. Joy was 40th Anniversary of Dirty Dozen. They had Big Sam from Big Sams Funky Nation, Trombone Shorty and Uncle Dan from Orleans Ave Uncle Ivan from Neville Bros, Dumpstaphunk, The Meters, GP Jr from everything, Treme Brass Band, Alvin Ford Jr (Pretty Lights), Terrence Higgins, and more shit I can’t even remember. Not NYE but merry Xmas to me
Oh and Exmag was killer. I’ve been waiting to see them for a while. It’s a 3 piece act including Gramatik’s old guitarist. Fucking right.
The weather in Denver is relatively mild for the most part. That being said, it was like -4 degrees one or two years ago on NYE. They're basically just hoping it'll be decent and probably have a backup indoor location.
True, I believe Red Rocks can't operate if the weather is under a certain temperature, so we'll see how this turns out.
update: this got moved to an indoor venue lol. Funny thing is the weather isn't even projected to be that cold for a Denver NYE.
Also random tidbit but I talked to someone that does lighting for the xx and they said it's basically up to the artists if they want to perform in snow/weather. The only thing that really forces Red Rocks to cancel anything is lightning.

Welp, there it is.
Interesting, good to know. My friend, who works closely with AEG for their Red Rocks events, implied snow and cold could cancel events, but not sure if he was claiming they could outright cancel due to those factors.
Thinking about ditching Busted NYE with Herobust because it's too fucking cold and I would be going solo and have to drive or deal with transportation. Its like upper 30s with wind in the upper 20s and a wind chill in the teens. I can watch Dopapod, Pretty Lights and Disco Biscuits and get destroyed at home for free. I'm not 100%, and it's only 8:37, but I'm leaning hard that way.
