Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
For the sake of keeping with the baby picture theme, I'll keep this short and formulaic:
First shout out to piggy pablo for getting me involved with the board and Roo in general, something I've wanted to do for a long time, but once I finally finished my degree, he pointed out that there was nothing holding me back from going. (but don't give him points for that) Second shout out to actually @fortyfive33 now for the noms, and garageland , KPO , snowman , and rebelbrad for the seconds, thirds, fourths, and fifths on that.
2 Top 10 Roo Draft Finishes. 7 Correct Album of the Month Choices. 70 sets seen (33% or greater) since joining, with Waxahatchee on the way (garageland , also thanks for the Lee Ranaldo suggestion). Found out Rothric , piggy pablo (I did know this prior to the board though), and I were at the same System of a Down show with the Mars Volta over a decade ago, separately. I don't believe in destiny, or God, so idk what to call that, but it's something. Participant in Radiohead and Kanye Madness brackets (and voted correctly). Participant in Game of Thrones and Political Discussion (let's face it, whats the difference). Participant in Now Playing/Watching (snowman along with Garage, Fred, and Rothric seem to be my Roo Board Music Taste Spirit Animals). Watcher of a good majority of the streams esteban posts (I hope I'm not the only one, poor thing puts a ton of effort into it and then gets called out for posting in the wrong streaming thread). Contributor to Upcoming Shows (can't expect shuck to do everything, people have lives and need breaks sometimes). Although I missed the favorite/best albums thread, I do apologize for not helping y'all fix it, yikes. But I can't wait for SupeЯfuЯЯyanimal to shame me with my taste in movies come the favorite films thread. Firm believer that all you quackers look exactly like your avatars.
Just because your choice won AotM doesn't make it correct.
Also, the difference between the game of thrones thread and the political thread is game of thrones is fun. The political thread is just soul crushing.

Lol, honestly not sure if anyone of them won. Ty didnt, Sampha didnt, Gizz didnt (either month), Mastodon didnt (though if I revoted I wouldve only bumped Blanck Mass to third, definitely listened to more often after month than the Don), Arca didnt (DAMN. coming in a distance second to Arcade Fire for most disappointing release), Juana Molina didnt (couldve bumped Slowdive into clear 2nd but I like Halo more still), Tyler might.

Appreciation and compliments will get you everywhere with me and my vote. I am always for sale..

not sure if this helps but I've seen most of Awkward.

Yeah. That other one was kind of buried down, but I posted Pickathon's schedule for this weekend this morning. Jonathan Richman, Ty Segal and others are on that stream. As soon as I get Lollapalooza's, I'll post that as well. Someone will probably get it first in that festival's thread, but I'll try to stay on top of it on the one in Music Lounge. I think some people do see stuff from time to time and view those shows.
You also get a mention for having King Crimson in all caps in your upcoming shows tagline. Other than some live concerts (Frejus 1992 Beat Tour and Tokyo 1984 Three of a Perfect Pair Tour along with various VHS shit over the years), I only saw them live once which was Night 1 of Thrak Tour on November 4, 1995. Personnel at that time were Fripp/Belew/Levin/Bruford along with Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto
Setlist was: Conundrum, Thela Hun Ginjeet, Red, Frame by Frame, Dinosaur, One Time, Vrooom Vrooom, B'Boom, Thrak, Neurotica, Three of a Perfect Pair, Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream, Matte Kudasai, Improv: Two Sticks, Elephant Talk, Indiscipline, Vrooom, Coda: Marine 475, Walking on Air, Prism (Pierre Favre cover), The Talking Drum and Lark's Tongues in Aspic Part II
They played another show the next night with a similar setlist except they played Neurotica, People and Improv: Two Sticks

I would love to get Indiscipline)

*watching Pat using two tablas and drumming all over them and keeping up with Danny and his full set was incredible. I wish I had/could find a good video of that, because it was incredible. Of all the Danny solo's I've seen that was by far and away my favorite.
I promised myself not to do this until after I finish some writing, but then I said, "Quack it!" and decided to put my thoughts into words. It's gonna be a long one, so if you don't want to read it, just go to the end.
First of all, I would like to thank garageland for the nomination and opening up this thread. I also enjoyed reading the previous TIN threads, so thanks to nodepression and Boner for handling those threads as well. Secondly, I appreciate your support of my nomination; snowman , Rothric , Vieux , Jaz , actually @fortyfive33 now and rebelbrad . Even being nominated is more than I would expect when I started contributing to this forum, so it is very valuable to me. Finally, I want to salute all previous TIN awardees, Flanz , Pops , beebee , billybaroo and Rummy 500 . I'm aware that most of you are not as active anymore, and I haven't had a chance to talk to you here, but I'm sure you're some cool people. Now, let me get personal. I will not care if you find some of what I'm writing cliche or boring, but I can assure you that it's all gonna be sincere.
I moved to New York from another part of the world approximately five years ago. Before moving here, I had always enjoyed music, and had attended few concerts (first of them being British Sea Power, followed by Zola Jesus, and Wild Beasts), but I was never an avid concert-goer. Having separated from most of my family & friends (thereby some mild depression), I've started spending more time paying attention to music, and utilizing New York's rich concert resources. The first show I went was The Vaccines at Bowery Ballroom (my favorite venue). It was sold-out but somehow I managed to find a ticket at the door. That concert was a wonderful experience for me, and following that, I wanted to have the same feeling again and again (just to be able to get away from real life) so I started paying more attention, being more aware of what's going on in the city in terms of live music, and so on. Then I made up my mind to attend this relatively new, cool festival (Gov Ball 2013), I did, and had a fantastic time despite all that torrential rain and muddy fields. I felt like I should attend as many festivals as possible while I live here, so I looked up for the other festivals throughout the country. I discovered that Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lolla are the three big festivals, so I had to make it to all of them. In the meantime, my music taste has continuously shifted away from mainstream indie, and I was purchasing music magazines and reading a lot of internet ones. They got repetitive after a while, and, most of the time, were being written by the same people after all. My friends kept insisting me to open a blog, but it was old news, so I did not.
And it was November 2015, IIRC, I discovered Inforoo. At first, I thought it was just about Bonnaroo, but the more I looked at it, the more I got obsessed with it, most of those festival news, new album releases etc. were being shared here first. And there was a really nice community here. I kicked myself a lot, how did I not know this awesome forum before? I was hesitant though (questions such as "would people mock me?"), so I kept on lurking until I signed up in April 2016. My first post was on "Another Lurker Introduces" thread, and I kept myself in local festival threads like Gov Ball, Panorama etc. Then, life happened, I got cold feet, and stopped writing for a while. After a few months, I don't know what happened (I guess it was Cokes ' Best Albums of All Times thread), but I wanted to give it another chance, and I've contributed more and more since then. The more I've shared, the more I've got some nice responses (shout out to Garageland here!), and have met some really nice people (and some of them in person, shout out to FYF people). So, it's indeed an honor for me to be considered as a nominee for the best new board member.
Before I finish, I wanna thank some more people. Thanks for your continuous likes of my never ending posts in Now Playing Dos, Garage, Dave Maynar (or should I say Maynard Ave?), snowman, Bishop , Rothric, tЯist♡n , rebelbrad, sang_xcx , FuzzyWarbles , Fozzie Bear , and pg3melt . Thanks for reading all my long posts in "Any Good Shows?" thread, esteban . And I cannot imagine how difficult it is to be in charge of this giant forum, much appreciated, mods! (especially Druid (have you seen her signature yet?), and crazykittensmile ).
Forgot to say, I've attended many many concerts and festivals over the last five years. (You can see the whole list here.) It's been a pleasure to be able to share my experiences and all. Thank you guys.
PS: If I'm not picked as the TIN, I promise I won't biznatch like some people (*cough* ken bone *cough*).

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Fred big timing me with 5 years worth of shows. I can try to string together a list. (166 over the last two is all I have spreadsheeted, he does have far more cross country shows than me I will say)
Fwiw Bowery Ballroom is also my favorite of the two NY shows I've seen (Me and Kyp had a moment together in the crowd at a show he was attending), the other was MH of Williamsburg which was cool too (also btw for my east coast peeps, Black Bear was by far the most amazing bar I have ever been to, and I am very saddened to see now that it has closed. RIP Black Bear).

but I lost to Rummy 500 of all people so the bitching was deserved.
I actually don't think...there's ever been a period of time where I'm active on this board where these comments aren't prevalent. I am fine w jokes, especially from people like you and Phi and Dave who criticize/make fun but who I actually know & like in real life....but sometimes, enough is enough and I get kinda tired of reading it? And y'all wonder why I took such a hiatus...

Look, you know I like you dude. And we get along in person. And I truly don't mind the poking fun on internet, at all...until it becomes half of what I read in this thread and then that's just, not what I'm on here for.
Continue the jokes and be your funny sarcastic self, seriously, but I'm just throwing out a request to tone it down maybe a *little* bit. Would be appreciated

Decided to take a NY vacay when DfN 1.0 was being teased like, it was the best timing for us and like how good could it be? So instead of Kendrick, New Order, Jaar, Flylo, and Phil Glass, I traveled to see Will Butler (MHWB, still a fun show, was really into 'Anna' at the time), and San Fermin (Bowery, was really the only other thing me and the gf were semi interested in). Holly Miranda (opened and who turned out to be really great) is signed by one of the guys in TVotR, so Kyp came out during her set and hung around for a bit after. We were like a week or two away from Tame and Sleater and a few others. Kind of wanted to do the Pusha T/Deadmau5 thing at Barclays but we saw mau5 twice in October. So we just settled on those two and still had a pretty good time.
For the wiser crowd, my first show was Journey (Steve Augeri, the middle guy) with Frampton opening. I remember seeing Schon and Frampton playing their guitars with golf and tennis balls and my little 11 yr old mind was blown. Also got to sing along to 'Feel Like We Do' with my hand in my mouth to make my own effects while that shit was happening live, fulfilling a short lived child hood dream.
