Panorama 2018 - July 27-29

Gish was the rawest and they all still liked playing together.

Siamese was the strongest and has great Iha co-tracks which really make them Pumpkins albums and not WPC as SP

PI was oddly great. The Landslide cover was unexpected and I loved it.

Mellon Collie was the opus. Everything after, while not bad, was the decline. Billy noodling for the most part. Plugging in pro jocks as needed.

I feel like, for me, Mellon Collie had the tunes on it to be one great Smashing Pumpkins album...but they stretched it into a double, and there wasn't enough there to support that as a whole.


But that's, just, like, my opinion, man.

I mean Mellon Collie was in a different league than what their 90's radio rock counterparts were putting out.

I’m not sure if the Janet Jackson or Smashing Pumpkins takes are worse in this thread.

I still can't help but laugh every time I see this.

I think the Batman Forever soundtrack was probably the last soundtrack this legit. Popular music has taken a nosedive the last couple decades if you weren't paying attention. Also, 90's music is incredible in general.
