Soulection is playing New Orleans (Buku) with collective members Sango, Esta and Whooligan. I don't know if those are the members Panorama will have. Panorama was pretty cool on tv last year, and hopefully it will be on again.
Not really. At first glance Black Madonna, Yaeji, Mall Grab, Daniel Caesar, Bicep, Floating Points, Avalon Emerson, DJ Python, Jay Som, Japanese Breakfast, Mount Kimbie, Moodymann, Rex Orange County, Helena Hauff, and Laurel Halo are worth checking out in the undercard.
Context: I’m already hitting Coachella so the top 3 lines of each day except for JJ (who I have zero interest in) are unoriginal. It’s a lot of recycling. A few hits, but not worth the price. Gladly go Sunday only.

Sunday is the only day I could justify showing up for. A definite downgrade from past years, but can’t blame them for switching it up when the last couple lineups didn’t sell well.

the only lineups from the big fests that are interesting to me this year are Coachella and Panorama, and on both of those the only headliners i'm interested in are Beyonce or Janet.
and of the big festivals, Coach and Pano seem to be the only two willing to spend money on real electronic talent, which has a lot to do with my high opinion of them.
Yeah I'm not skipping Newport for that. Especially if FJM and/or TWOD cross-over. I just wish Floating Points, Black Madonna, and Yaeji would do their own shows.
I guess this is what happens when an already thin year gets spread out between 3 festivals.
I'd imagine a lot of the electronic acts on the undercard will play aftershows.

Yeah, this is definitely more of an “East Coast Coachella” than it has been the past few years.

As much as I love this fest, I can't see this selling well. Props to them for putting together an interesting lineup which is more than I can say for most fests this year.
overall, although it is a LOT of recycling from coachella, its not really that bad. we could've done a lot worse, but then again that isn't saying much considering the state of american fests this year

I feel like if you listen to Adore/Machina without context it might be better. But it had come out when Grunge/Alternative had pretty much died, and Manson started being the most popular thing. So it just came off like Billy was mimicking whatever was popular to stay relevant and both albums had an air of desperation surrounding it. Also it sucked.
You sure you're remembering those records correctly? Adore was almost all acoustic/piano ballads, and Machina had heavy shoegaze vibes. I think he was doing the complete opposite of what was popular.
Not worth the 6hr drive and NYC in July. If you been to 3-4 fests in the last couple years you've seen 90% of this lineup.
Also, have the people booking Gucci ever seen him live before? Its reallyyytt bad...and will Cardi B have a full set by summer or will it still be her DJ for 40 mins and her for 20?

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

This is just below Coachella for my favorite American lineup of the year, but I'll admit I'm biased since I love the electronic selection. On first glance, there's 27 acts I'd be excited to see. Really hope the Bicep booking is a live show.

Interesting is one thing....interesting and good is quite another. I'd rather go to a fest with repeat acts that I enjoy than one with acts I've never seen and don't care to.
Personally may hit up Sunday here and Fri and Sat of GovBall for my NY Festival Experience
