The crowd was super into it for about 3-4 Drake songs in because they were expecting him to leave and then more of Tyler's friends to come out. Once he kept on for awhile and everyone realized he was THE headliner, everyone got really irritated. I'm not a Drake fan but honestly, he was putting on a dang good performance man. He didn't deserve to be booed, upset fans should have just left instead. But it was near impossible to leave if you weren't in the back.. main stage was crammed since Clairo. First Flog Gnaw, I wasn't impressed overall.. FKA Twigs was AMAZING though and BROCKHAMPTON was nothing but great as well. YG was good as always. Clairo was good, yesterday Thundercat was awesome. I didn't get to see a lot of others because I had to leave early yesterday, and today I was trapped on the main so I missed Blood Orange/Goldlink/H.E.R./Earl
I’m glad Frank didn’t come out. That shitty crowd didn’t deserve him.
Honestly.. it was my first Flog Gnaw and not to stereotype, but a lot of the crowds were so immature.. I know a lot of Odd Future fans have a certain stereotype around them but it wasn't honestly there for the most part..

What are u talking about?
All 45k people there wanted frank, could u not hear the chants? Or did you not hear everyone talk about frank for the past 2 days?
And then Tyler allows them to tease and play frank songs 5-10 min before
Tyler’s a moron if he didn’t see this coming. Lost everyone’s trust for presale and Lilly regular sale for next yr
U don’t put ??? For uzi and asap. And not drake at this festival
Right. Tyler screwed up. But that's not Drake's fault, he's up there visibly trying his best to gain the crowd. It's not his fault that he is not Frank Ocean, he didn't deserve to get booed. Tyler did, if anyone.ng
But I agree with losing trust, CFG didn't sell out until last week? Next year it won't sell out, at all, unless he has a massive headliner that isn't a mystery. No one's gonna bite on hoping for Frank again. (and watch it be Frank when people stop thinking it will be lol)
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
I don't even like Drake but booing him off the stage just because you wanted/expected someone else to be there is just mad and childish. Drake is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, pop -and rapstar in the world and as Kids See Ghosts closed last year, this is another step up from Tyler and his crew to get Drake to perform. Sure, there were a lot of people expecting Frank to be there because of some people fueling rumours (and that CoS ad didn't help either), what do you even do as an organisation like that? Announce your headliner beforehand to counter the rumours? Idk, if that's correct either because to my knowledge, no one from CFG/Tyler went out and started spreading rumours like that. The way Tyler announced the final act might've not been the most correct way either.. But to boo Drake off the stage like, idk man.
I’m glad Frank didn’t come out. That shitty crowd didn’t deserve him.
Are we talking about the same Frank Ocean who has a long history of cancelling shows and mailing in others with nothing but a glorified boombox on stage?

Read this if you weren’t there, I’m at work rn but this explains it decently well
Drake made it seem like there was another guest. His faultfor heribg bood (didn’t happen in beginning). Tyler’s fault for just not putting drake on poster. Would have sold out day 1 with a lot of his fans there

Drake didn’t make it seem like another guest.
He said Tyler asked if he could do 2-3 songs but do you mind if I rock the stage? That means he is doing more than 2-3 songs. It was just a very very bad set up. But I wish people didn’t boo and just went home. I had fun but towards the end I just decided to go home once I realized no one was coming after

If he was only supposed to do 2-3 songs then that leads the crowd think there's supposed to be more after him. Now he looks shitty because he's taking up time that other guests (possibly Frank) could be performing. I mean this is kind of what lead to him getting booed. What's confusing is if the original plan was to have Drake only do 2-3 songs, what were they going to do for the remaining 40 minutes?
So John Cale show this weekend, schedule starts off Cale opening for Black Angels, it changes day before to Cale closing. Then day of as I'm driving up to Austin it changed from Cale closing to ?? ?? going on after Cale. So, i immediately assume Coyne, Angel Olsen, Kurt Vile, J mascis, Mercury Rev, black angels, chelsea wolfe, et al are going to do a VU set, and I'm getting fucking pumped. Girlfriend keeps telling me to keep the expectations in check, but I'm hype. Cale ends they start setting up the stage and I'm like here we go. Turns out it's just Cale and Black Angels doing Sister Ray and that was it. Did I feel like they over hyped it, yeah, weird thing to schedule if its just 1 song, but I was still glad it happened and I at least got that. It would have been not chill to boo, but I definitely felt cheated out of Venus in Furs.

I'm certainly not going to argue that the fans weren't being shitty, but I also think Drake getting booed is funny and fine (for reasons beyond the fact that he's not Frank Ocean)
