Sounds like another disastrous festival is in the making for us all to watch and burn. Announced a week or so ago and set to take place Sept 8-9th with only a few artists announced. (this is being called Fyre 2.0 but has no known association with it)
"Organizer David Taylor has attempted to justify Starfest's unorthodox model -- of launching a festival in a mere five weeks -- while he and his team have been slow in announcing the artists that make up the advertised 60-band, two-day, two-stage bill."
The artists announced thus far:
"At one time, it appeared that hip-hop star Flo Rida, pop-country artist Hunter Hayes and EDM DJ Carnage would join Lil Wayne in Plano. But then, quickly, Hayes and Carnage were removed from the website and British DJ Artful was added."
"The festival, which has the ambitious plan of putting 60 artists on two stages in two days "
In regards to the "unknown yet to be announced" headliners:
"The cheeseball lingo Taylor has employed over the course of multiple interviews is tone-deaf at best. When interviewed on camera by NBC 5 last week, Taylor sheepishly offered "Just know, they're fantastic," when asked about the artists on the surprise lineup. Its own website claims the fest is "nearly impossible" and will be one that's "history making" and "mesmerizing""
Price:
"At $225 for a "100 Section - One Day" pass, Starfest is asking customers to pony up a few dollars less than a three-day pass for this year's ACL Fest"
"Perez claims he got busy and delivered offers to musicians like Deadmau5, Flo Rida, All-American Rejects, DJ Khaled, Macklemore and more, and was able to sign Deadmau5 for $500k in July ... which meant a $75k commission for himself. He says he also scored Flo Rida for the fest for $125k, meaning an additional $18,750 in commission."

$225 for a festival I’d have to fly to in Texas with a shitty played-out headliner and no other announced artists that should be more than what they can fit on two stages with less than a month’s notice? Sign me up!
"Taylor says that the general admission passes will be similar in spirit to the “Party Pass” tickets at Cowboys games, where fans fit into a standing room only section in the most extreme nosebleeds of AT&T Stadium, and watch the game on the screen of their choice. For these Starfest ticketholders, Taylor says, video screens will be placed throughout the park."

"WE ARE SEEKING A NEW HOME...AGAIN!
While we were pleased to announce that Lone Star Park in Grand Prarie would be able to accommodate us for the festival, the management informed us on Monday morning that the facility was previously booked for an outside event on their parking lots that would take up 80% of usable parking for our guests. The team at Lone Star Park has been diligently working with us directly to help facilitate us with other dates in one capacity or another. This unfortunately may cause us to push back our event or move locations. More details to follow, but this Cinderella Story is not over yet! Stay tuned..."

I really hope this ends up just being some big online hoax, I really don’t want to believe there are promoters out there this incompetent, even though I know otherwise.
