Don't act like LD mentioning me doesn't mean anything is what you say? Similar to my post last night where I said that I understood why the town was looking at me in light of LD's whack? Don't worry, I already have acknowledged that LD's whack points at me, even if you want to gloss over that.
And oops, you got me - he mentioned me twice, not once.
This tone from you certainly points to you being mafia. But LD allowed me to be framed, which you are using to a pretty successful extent. Props for that, you and I both know the truth.
1. I said he was pushing hard at you. You sarcastically acted like that wasn't the case - yet you already admitted that it points to you. So if you are admitting that it points to you, I guess you're just arguing against my assertion that he was pushing hard? I'm not really sure what you're point is. Do you just want me to look less right than I am?
And again, you're lying in that he mentioned you three times. Once trying to push you into the runoff, once when he mentioned Potent/Carini/Maddog together, and then once in saying he thought there was a Mafia out of the revoters, which at the time were you, LLL, and JR.
Interesting that LD says he thinks there's two Mafia out of Potent/Carini/Maddog, and also that he thinks there's one or two Mafia out of Potent/LLL/JR.
Do you notice anything that those two groups have in common?
I don't get why some people are so fixated on Jaz's schedule though. He is usually a pretty quiet player in the first rounds. It is almost starting to concern me some. I get that it could be an indication of his role, and may be further evidence that he is Mafia. But to drill it so hard over and over again almost seems feigned to me. I won't be moving my vote because of what I outlined in my last post, but it is something I'm making note of.
I get that he's usually reserved. I don't think I made mention of it til this afternoon. This is what stood out to me though about it...
yeah, you're mafia all right. LD pushed for me *SO HARD* that he mentioned me once, faded away as pointed out by I think piggy pablo , and never voted for me. Real hard push.
Dude of all the players in the game, he said he wanted to put you in the runoff specifically. Don't act like that doesn't mean anything.
I'm thinking we got Mafia that is experienced. People who know what they're doing, people who have seen me go aggressive before. At least one or two have been playing this for years.
This could apply to a number of people, but yes you're one of them. Other candidates include myself, SFA, and LLL. More so SFA or LLL than you or I in my opinion, simply because they are the "one or two" that have been playing the longest. Hence my votes for SFA and LLL in this round.
Can't help but wonder if Jaz was sitting back because it looked like Potent was a done deal. Now that it seems it can go either way he's in for the fight.

It's not like Jaz was the only one being quite. He put up more content than some others.
I'd put money on at least one of the remaining mafia sitting back and letting everyone argue. Possible shaping a runoff against our own interest. At the very least, not wanting to draw attention to themselves.
D2R1 Vote History Jaz > SFA Zolah > Potent Carini > Potent LLL > Jaz SFA > Jaz Jaz > SFA > LLL Pablo > Dan JR > Pablo Dan > Pablo JR > Pablo > Carini Potent > SFA Potent > SFA > Carini

I was going to make the argument that If I were mafia, Potent wasn't, and LD made all the comments that he made, I might whack him just because it points at Potent. But after thinking a little more, I don't think it's a good move by mafia to whack someone they don't suspect to be the inspector, especially on night one.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

But this to me doesn't appreciate enough the fact that mafia has very little idea N1 who inspector is. Danbob and Zolah will remember last game how the three of us were so paranoid any of us would be mentioned by anyone. We probably, through two days, named 3 or 4 different inspectors and didn't even have a read on Maddog as inspector.
So I think your comment JR doesn't recognize that they probably had 2-3 names and had to pick one, and went to tie someone in on someone they thought was an easy frame. It's never a straight inspector whack unless the inspector reveals. Sure, they hope that they get inspector, but they also better make sure if they miss there's some benefit anyway. Otherwise it's a total failure.

I posted saying I wouldn't be back until late tonight because that's what I expected, and since people are harping on me about when and how much I post, I wanted to give a heads up. Today turned out to be not as heavy as yesterday so I'm able to escape to the computer more. I get that Mafia is about finding inconsistencies, but if you're going to do so, find inconsistencies in my logic and reasoning instead of my ability to accurately predict exactly how my day is going to go. I say I'm not going to be able to post as much this game, and pablo gets on me for not posting as much. I start posting when I previously didn't think I'd be able to, and apparently that's suspicious too? Seriously? FWIW I lean town on you so I don't find your rationale particularly nefarious just yet, but I'm just trying to play the game when I can. And yes, the fact that I could possibly be voted out this round absolutely influences how much I'm posting - why would it be any other way?
Also, you had already collected all of LD's posts after he was whacked, so it only took me a minute or two to make that post.

Also, and I've refrained from making this statement because it doesn't help me at all, but LD would have to be a pretty bad inspector to throw things out the way he did on D1 leading to his whack.
The problem with saying this is that I think all of the evidence points to LD being a bad inspector.

This is true, I said something simular yesturday.
You really can't get a good read on LD. He talks like he's the inspector in a lot of games. He's not always doing it on purpose but he'll make vague statements that seem to be hinting at having extra knowledge or just overuse declaritive statements.

When you defended LD before he was whacked, I questioned you on it because I found it odd that you defended him. You explained it, and frankly your response read like inspector to me which is why I don't think I pushed much. Then LD ended up whacked.

Yeah, I mentioned earlier I thought he could have been so I was trying to take some heat off of him. I certainly read him as at least a townie. In my experince LD tends to be a little more focused when he's mafia. But it was mostly that long weekend with him hanging out by himself.

So, I've already telegraphed that I'm not particularly interested in Jaz and that I was more interested in Maddog, LD and Zolah. Most of the reasoning behind my interest in Zolah was based on LD being on her when he suggested we toss Potent in. But LD didn't move off of her, and she's still in here. I'm not really all that interested in Zolah. I don't particularly care that she stacked, when she stacked.. People stack. They are expected to. The game requires it. So, in part for the sake of not letting Mafia plan for my move a round in advance, I'm going to vote Jaz here.
I would like to see where JR/Pablo move (knowing I'm kind of targeting myself by shaking things up) rather than see people in the runoff get their votes back, especially since none of the Jaz voters seem to be locked on him.
As per the rules, the extension would be granted and I would be in, and Jaz would be out. Unless Tainted says otherwise, this should be the correct tally.
LD and Maddog are the most interesting players among these three to me. After reciprocal votes, Carini can decide between the two.
I don't think it will necessarily be that simple. I also expect an LD-Maddog runoff to produce the most drama. I am curious to see who changes votes, as well.
I wanted to make this move yesterday but wanted to see where Pablo placed his vote first. I'm leaning town on Maddog right now, and regardless it doesn't make much sense to have Carini be the sole meaningful revote when we could have more info from the Maddog voters.
I feel like Maddog and Jaz slipping out and each throwing me in last minute is more suspicious than LD retaliating x2. I also think it would be more beneficial for town to see where Potent/LLL/JR re-vote... Because they've been 3 of the quieter players.
Day 1 is complete. Maddog is mad dead. Inspector, a guess if you will. Mafia, get to whacking. Night 1 begins..
This also bears repeating. This is a genesis of how the Day 1 runoff was shaped by Maddog and Jaz. If you believe that Maddog was mafia - and his comment on the way out the door sealed it for a few of us at the time - then Jaz is inextricably tied to Maddog, and it is more beneficial to get rid of him now than it is later.
LD said my name twice and alluded to me a couple other times, I get that. But LD also, in the post quoted above, that Maddog is either mafia or a liability to the town. This is right after, at the beginning of D1R4, he took the count from 4-4 to 5-3 to get Maddog out. It seems exceedingly likely to me that this move is what got him whacked, and the fact that LD just throws out other names, making it easy to frame people, is an added bonus. I think this is the most likely scenario. It doesn't mean that Jaz is mafia necessarily, but I just think it's plain irresponsible for someone who we think is Mafia, Maddog, to be so completely tied to another player and that person to get away.

We're each making two claims: you're saying that potentially-inspector LD might have had Maddog's name, and I'm saying that potentially-inspector LD might have had your name. In each of our respective theories, you and Maddog are each one degree away from the potential-inspector. You're directly implicated. I'm two degrees away - the whack doesn't point to me, and the only way you get to me from the whack is by making assumptions about my reasons for making the moves I made, which I've already explained.
Remove yourself and myself from this scenario and look objectively: wouldn't you agree that it's more responsible for the town to eliminate the people tied directly to the whack instead of someone who's an extra degree away from it?
Also the town should generally be aware of the scenario in which neither of us are Mafia, and the Mafs are just sitting back watching us quibble.
D2R1 Vote History Jaz > SFA Zolah > Potent Carini > Potent LLL > Jaz SFA > Jaz Jaz > SFA > LLL Pablo > Dan JR > Pablo Dan > Pablo JR > Pablo > Carini Potent > SFA Potent > SFA > Carini
Potent is talking a convincing talk, and I hate to put too much faith in speculation around LD, but I think the better move at this moment is to vote Potent. I'm voting earlier than I'd planned because I haven't reread yet, but I don't want everyone waiting on me. React people!

I would generally agree, and certainly the town should consider both of us.

JR > Potent
I mean, I can convince myself that voting for either one seems more right. But in the end, most of us have no way of knowing, so we just have to make a choice based on which evidence we are more convinced of. Two people (possibly three if the Inspector is still alive and has asked about one of them or had a name) know if/which one of these is Mafia. Could be both, could be neither. Could be one. Fuck if I know. I'll do another read.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
So I have read and re-read and I can convince myself a reason of voting for either. I think LD was whacked solely on his bump that immediately put Maddog at 5-3 when it was 4-4. I think his talk about Potent was in retaliation for putting him into the runoff. (Could he be mafia? Sure). I'm going to go on votes here. And Jaz helped shape the initial runoff... And had I stayed on LD day 1, it would have been a townie that got lynched.
Potent also placed a vote on SFA who I considered could benefit from Maddog's outburst on his way out. What better cover for SFA after having the whacked guy's back and voting out mafia. (Not convinced of this, but it crossed my mind, I feel like mafia has something funky going on). I feel like a mafia member would have someone easier to go after other than someone who stood up for the whack and voted out mafia.

I can't help but feel like voting out jaz is a mistake. Not saying he's 100% town but all Potent has done this whole day is talk in circles and basically say anything to get him out of the runoff. AND THEN when he has the majority of the votes Zolah saves him. It's not really passing the smell test.
