The game: You are charged with casting a celebrity reality show. Your show can have a very basic premise (i.e., fifteen celebrities living in a house together for a specified period of time) or a more complex premise either based on an existing reality show or of your own design. We will not draft this part, and it is fine for various drafters to use the same premise. You can provide a brief description of your premise at any time during the draft or wait until the end.
1. There will be 15 rounds of drafting. You may use these rounds to draft cast members, a host, and/or other human beings to play specific roles in your show.
2. Once a person is drafted, they are unavailable to anyone else in any capacity.
3. All draftees must be living human beings. While the idea is to create a celebrity reality show, the definition of celebrity is pretty open to interpretation. If you believe that your great aunt Birgit is a celebrity and you want to cast her, that's fine, although it seems unlikely that she'll earn you that many votes.
4. Snake draft
5. Draft order determined by random.org
6. Disputes handled via poll. Upon confirming receipt of request, a poll will be put up and run for six hours. Polls can run seven days a week but no poll will start before 9AM or after 9PM Eastern. Drafting will continue while the poll is running. In light of rule 3, it doesn't seem like there should be many disputes.
7. Trades are allowed.
8. Winners decided via poll (number to be determined based on actual number of participants). 48 hours each. Polls can run seven days a week but no poll will start before 9AM or after 9PM Eastern. Results hidden until the polls are complete. (In the event of a tie, tied parties move on to the next round.)
9. The show is being made in the relative present. (I.e., the people you cast must be alive right now.)
10. Up to twenty participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.
11. Any rule changes prior to the start of the draft will be decided by me and updated in the OP.
12. Any rule changes after the start of the draft will require a supermajority of participant votes in favor prior to adoption. (I will abstain from voting in rule changes.)
13. Each participant has a maximum of twenty-four hours for their pick. Once this window is up, the next participant is on the clock and the draft will resume as normal. The person with the lapsed pick can make their selection from anyone currently available when ready.
14. You have the option of designating the venue that your show will air on. (HBO, NBC, Netflix, etc.) This does not need to be drafted nor is it exclusive.
15. Filming locations/settings are not draftable. You may specify a location in your description of the premise.
16. If an individual is being used for multiple roles, each role would be considered a draft pick. (E.g., Say Tom Pink is drafted in the first round and then designated as a writer on the show. If they are also going to be designated as an actor in the show, this would need to be "drafted" in a subsequent round.)

Can the premise include death? As in these celebrities will be fighting to the death or will be participating in activities were they may burn to death, drown, or get eaten by wild life?

I was thinking about including an element for choosing a premises beyond just living in a house together. I’m not so sure drafting that aspect would make sense though, so I was thinking instead we could each just add a short description of our shows to go along with a cast list. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
I’m only at work today and tomorrow this week so I will hopefully be a little busier than normal with work stuff. I figure I’ll leave signups open until next Wednesday and then get it moving.

Hey, y'all! Sorry about the delay. We've had some post-holidays ups and downs at home. I think things are settling in, so we can go ahead and start soon if you all still want to. I'll wait a couple more days to see if there's any additional interest.
Tagging some players from the last couple of drafts:
hey drafters. remember that time i drafted JAck WHite and YYY but they were ineligible b/c they would never tour again...
yea....
Remember when someone else drafted Blur when Gorrilaz was already off the board? And some other a-hole decided that Bill Murray was going to perform like seventeen different sets?
Yeah. We're having another go at that draft when this one's over.

Please note me as "in" for that draft.
I don't understand this one enough to even draft.
What do you not understand about it? The idea is to pick fifteen celebrities for a reality show. You can base it on an existing reality show (i.e, Celebrity Big Brother or Celebrity Survivor), make up your own premise, or just have it be fifteen celebrities being filmed while living in a house together for a certain period of time.

Maybe I used the wrong word. What I meant was that I don't understand how creative we'd need to be? Am I planning out different challenges? Am I then playing out the show? Or Am I Just saying I'm doing celebrity big brother and picking 15 people?

The only part we are drafting is the celebrity participants (unless you want to pick a host or a producer or something, but I'm assuming most people will stick to participants). If you want to provide a description of your show, you can, and I'll include that with your list of participants for voting, but any premise for the show, description of challenges, location, etc. won't be part of the drafting and, so, won't be exclusive.
