I also feel that Viking has been way more proactive in trying the find Mafia than JR. JR has mostly only defended himself. I’m not saying that JR shouldn’t defend himself but it seems he cares more about clearing his name than finding Mafia.
JR was taking a break from shopping and eating an Auntie Annie's pretzel when he saw a note taped to a nearby pole. $1000 giveaway today over at Sears, just go to the aisle in the tool section with lawnmowers and enter for a chance to win. So JR walks over to Sears, and it's eerily quiet cause Sears sucks and nobody goes there anymore. He's standing around, wondering where the signup for the giveaway is. Should he ask someone? If only there was someone actually around though... But all of a sudden, a man dressed in all black sneaks up from behind and stabs him repeatedly with a running power drill. JR collapses to the floor and bleeds out, cause it took an hour for someone to actually find him.
JR is dead.

So since I am alive and several of you have given me a vote of confidence / rope to hang myself, here are my thoughts and intended vote in case I get whacked. Obviously, it is biased since I know I am a townie and I was targeted last round. All of this is subject to change or evolve a la ZIG as Day 2 evolves and I would encourage you to take all of this into consideration going forward.
As I said in my last post, there were likely 2 mafia members in the 6 (then 5) voters voting for me at the end. That pool was Jaz, Thor, Zolah, JR, Zig, and Tainted. Tainted switched at the end and I would say did so at risk to himself (which I greatly appreciate). That leaves Jaz, Thor, Zolah, JR, Zig. As I said previously, I think ZIG was hoping Pablo would vote for me, but when that didn't happen, he had to vote for me to try and remove me. His comment on Tainted to point this out makes it even more evident, since he was obviously paying attention, had wanted the last vote, and wanted to draw suspicion to him.
All of this drives at the theory that ZIG, Zolah, and JR are mafia together (with a caveat to be explained in a sec).
In addition to me as a townie, I am thinking Tainted, Pablo (for forcing ZIG's vote), Mad Dog (for his observations regarding who is trying to shape runoffs), and Danbob (because he was targeted and feel) are townies with me.
That leaves a pool of Thor, Jaz, and Potent who have been quiet and I am looking forward to more input from them in Day 2.
Having just reread everything, I would list them in order of suspicion from Jaz, Thor, finally Potent. Again, there is certain level of prejudice here, especially as it relates to Potent. However, I think Jaz straddled the fence really hard and it seems like he was almost intentionally not adding much. Thor I typically give a bit of a pass to due to his built in prejudice against how I play. Interested in seeing what he does in day 2.
All of this said, should I survive the night, I intend to vote for ZIG because I feel he is most likely to be Mafia. I still feel strongly about Zolah, but I generally try and kill who I feel most confident about on Day 2 and his actions at the end of the round clinched it for me.

A call was made to the county animal control board early this morning, after a corpse was found behind the food court dumpsters. Much to their surprise, they found Tainted Opossum back there rather than some animal.

I agree. The initial thing that sticks out to me is the switch onto JR at the close of the last round. Makes me wonder if Mafia thought Tainted had JR's name, hence the switch, or if they thought Tainted didn't want to vote along with a different Viking voter (me, Thor, Zolah, Zig). Given the heat on Zolah and ZIG already and the quietude of myself and Thor, I think that's a pretty good pool to choose from (from a not-me perspective, at least). I want to look through the rest of Tainted's posts, but for now
Going to need to look over Tainted’s posts. Kinda surprised he was the whack. I’m still at work and have a gym appointment at 7pm. I might get to it tonight or sometimes this weekend.
Also Maddog, I voted for Tainted because I wanted to change the runoff, my options were Potent, ZIG and Tainted. Maybe a foolish move in hindsight. I voted for Tainted and gave him vote back for Round 2, where I'll probably be in the runoff.
as far as I'm concerned, Viking telling everyone to go fuck themselves is warranted. JR explaining a face-off vote is uhh, its something that other people would do. At best.
I read JR's vote for Viking as sarcasm... But I did read his post about, "The problem is that we've played together like a dozen times and you find it "interesting" that I'm playing like I play pretty much every time I'm town." as possibly trying to justify himself.
While viking has a defeatist approach in the last couple pages, it only came along once he resigned himself to his fate. JR didn't have this approach at all, and I for whatever reason, find that more suspicious.
Not that I’m clearing JR by any stretch, but I think you’re overreacting a bit.
I am going to be under the microscope in day 2, I'll get my inspection I'm sure but at least reread with each of their posts a priority and tell me if you see anything. We are coming down to the wire on Day 1 so I'm trying to make sure we at least lynch properly for the towns sake.
Your avatar is of who again? Toughen up. This isn't a game for delicate sensibilities, and I'm not even accusing either of you of being mafia. We are down to a 1v1, regardless. You've talked and contributed and defended yourself, something I don't equate to being mafia (contrary to the consensus). Viking has prematurely declared defeat and a lack of desire to continue caring so much about the game and being of such great use to town - something I do equate to being non town. You guys both are on an even scale as it stands, so now is a great time to be concise in defending yourself.
Mafia's a game. I'm playing a role. My feelings aren't hurt. I know I can be a little sarcastic or throw comments I find funny in. It all started a long time ago on something I like to call... D1R1...

Yeah the tainted whack is making me think we got a Mafia in JR. Not too surprised at all. I’m celebrating a birthday so I won’t be able to vote / post my thoughts until later tonight.
