I want to reread Tainted’s posts before I vote. Taught my 10 year old how to play chess today and been playing all day. (Currently on game #7). Picking up one of his friends in the morning and he’ll be over most the day. I should have time after dinner tomorrow. Will try and find time before then.

On my last read some of JR's early posts were throwing up big red flags for me, and I agree with Dan's assessment that the Tainted whack suggests Mafia were spooked that he was Inspector with JR's name. Seems like we may have gotten one on D1.
For my vote, not super interested in stacking those who already have votes on them. Gonna give it some time and probably another read.
I didn't really read it as him having jrs name, he was skeptical but he didn't seem very gung ho on it, just more likely than Viking. Playing to see if anyone saved Viking also makes me think he had the name of someone else if he was inspector and was skeptical of Viking because of his early round play.
JR - 6 (Danbob, Viking, Maddog, Potent, Pablo, Tainted)
Viking - 5 (Jaz, Thor, Zolah, JR, Zig)
assuming tainted is town/inspector...he voted/moved off viking to see if anyone would save him, so regardless of whether he was inspector, it feels like he was looking at any one of the viking voters (he could still have had jr's name, but i feel like its more likely based on his votes/comments that he came around to the idea of jr being mafia as opposed to knowing. i think had he known jr was mafia he would have gone after those defending him, both viking and dan were not doing that).
theres still the possibility JR was town (its there but slim imo), because of that, I feel like looking at the splits right now won't show too much, and could be used against us.
Seems a bit convenient that all the players that have spoken up in detail so far since the start of day 2 all share similar feelings / theories...
I am definitely interested in hearing a few alternatives. I have a feeling that Viking is either (a) Mafia or (b) way off in his theories. And yet, here we are, shaping a runoff the way he thinks we should.

that's interesting coming from two people who had the most impact regarding number of votes and movement of players in and out of runoff.
i don't think that viking is 100% town by any means. and i think that any whack can be misdirect in lieu of not knowing inspector.
i picked my vote based on who was quietest, the viking voters for the most part were very quiet post wise.
pablo also had 2 chances to essentially put viking out and instead tried to overstack jr and then voted for jr again. so if viking was way off or mafia, why did you pick JR over him?

Well, the likelihood that Viking is way off is greater in my mind than the one that he is Mafia, by a good amount.
To be clear, I'm not being critical of you, Maddog. I don't have a problem with your vote for Thor and your attempt to bring someone else into the conversation. I think also going after both ZIG and Zolah as a Town might be a bit of a waste of time. Just my opinion.
I voted for JR to force ZIG to make the decision, to give myself more information on a day when I got next to none. That's pretty clear. It wasn't until really late in the round (after my vote had been cast) that I started to feel like, yes, JR might really be Mafia. He was a little over-aggressive and more upset about dying than I'd expect from someone with a Vanilla role. The stuff about saying you're shit at being Town was weird. I feel good about voting for JR over Viking. I also think Viking could be very wrong and might have tunnelvision that set in before all the opening votes were even cast, but we're throwing ZIG and Zolah in, mostly because he said we should.

So whats your theory? I am interested because I think I see where you are going.
Right now, he and the other mafia are waiting to make sure they actually got the inspector. The overriding goal of the mafia is to whack the inspector if they can. All else is secondary to it. My life was not worth saving, but here we are. I would agree that JR was probably not his given name, but if it was not, then one of the other voters on me was Tainted's name.
Once they are confident they got the inspector, I am looking forward to ZIG's Star Wars post. It will be like Episode 3, where you watch the good Jedi go to the dark side. (reference to Mafia 94)

You have never played with me before, but I have never gone 0 for on day 1 with mafia when playing as town, and usually am 2 of 3, way off on a 3rd.

Having said that, there is a first time for everything. Done checking for the night. Real close to violating a personal rule about playing mafia while drunk.
Alright got my reread in and I think I’ve got a solid grasp on things. The whack points to JR being Mafia - something that doesn’t surprise me in the least. If JR was indeed Mafia and being so vocal then I can assume it’s almost guaranteed that there’s at least one Mafia who was quietly watching JR spin himself innocent. So the people I’m looking at right now are zig, Jaz and Thor. I also have potent in the corner of my eye but his vote for JR gives him a pass for me in day 2. Jaz I have a town lean on - everytime he posted I thought he was actively contributing to the game and being a helpful townie. Both Thor and zig I find haven’t been very helpful the whole game as both have only really posted when expressing their distaste for Vikings play style. I’m going to vote for zig here solely because I think it’s extremely anti town (even if zig is town) to have such power over the runoff and only post to trash Viking. I also think his “don’t you think it’s weird everyone agrees” post is pretty Mafia-ish. I’m open to discussion as both zolah and Pablo are unknowns to me. I’m getting a town read on mad dog and Viking.
between potent, tainted, and zig i don't know who i would rather have in. tainted with the 3 stack, potent with the move, zig hasn't done much, he created the third stack (could go either way). zig dropping out would give zolah a revote with her name in the ro, but having her choose between the remaining four might not be the worst thing.
All 3 are good choices. Personally would prefer potent and tainted. They are quiet atm and for reasons I prefer not to share right now, I am leaning toward zig being town

This is a pretty bold anti-Danbob stance by the guy who was killed by mafia.
Statistically (and I don't know the stats here), Viking and JR are likely town, as townies usually die in the D1 runoff. And seeing that the guy who was whacked essentially saved Viking, I have to take that into consideration.
I did wonder if instead of seeing if someone would "save Viking" as he said, Tainted wanted to see if someone would save JR...? Maybe I'm grasping here but wanted to discuss all possibilities.
Still... I can't help but wonder if there was more to the JR/Danbob fight and Tainted stacking Dan to 3. He wasn't exactly smooth last game as inspector. (Sorry, Tainted).

This honestly makes me suspect zolah a little bit more. Tainted’s power move day 1 was against JR not me. I understand if you wanna keep your options open because of his stack but to vote for me and clear JR kinda smells like Mafia crafting a narrative.
