I agree with ZIG (uh oh!) that Viking was too quick and too early to clear ZIG. It's also too early, imo, to be so sure Zolah (as well as JR) is Mafia. It seems too early in the game for a Mafia member to be spinning theories trying to confuse us. However, I could say the same thing about it being too early for a Townie. Those of yall that have played with Viking before must have a better idea than I do about whether this is typical for him.
Go read Mafia 88 and Mafia 94 to get a better idea of how Viking plays.
Mafia 88 was my first ever game. Viking was Mafia and essentially “bullied” Rummy (townie) until she quit and the game then aborted.
Mafia 94 was my only game as Inspector. Viking fake revealed Day 1 and was spinning all sorts of Day 1 bullshit.
Potent, Jaz, ZIG, Thor still in single digit comments. Based on the way recent games have been going it might be safe to say someone in there is it, but holiday's might have skewed this a little.
Yea I've been intentionally absent from most of that internet for the past few days. Definitely haven't had a chance to contribute anything useful. Looks like there's been a lot of activity over that time so I need to give it a reread.

im not really holding it against anyone at this time (you and thor particularly aren't generally very loud so early) but if it doesnt change I'm probably going to be bringing it up more.
Zig being likely town makes very little sense, unless Viking has some information that most of us don't have. TBH, my gut feeling after playing seven pages with Viking is that he's readying a fake reveal, just in case, awfully early.
I will say it; the only way Viking could possibly make a “townie” conclusion on me so early based on the flimsy evidence he provided is if Viking was Inspector with Zolah’s name. I find that unlikely because if that scenario we’re true, then Viking would be essentially guaranteeing his death night 1.
Viking is indeed correct that I am town, so from my perspective it feels like he is trying to “buddy-up” to me early on and swing me to his “side”.

but is he like that during games he's not mafia?
From my perspective, he generally spins a lot of BS regardless of role and always seems to play like he is superior to the other players, but when he is Mafia, tends to ramp up the aggressiveness.

From my experience with him, which is unfortunately extensive, he tends to projectile word vomit nonsense theories and accusations from the get-go regardless of his role, which is what makes it so hard to enjoy ever playing a game with him in it.

As is usual when playing with Viking, a lot of my thinking hinges on his play - intentional or not, his style holds a lot of sway, and if he's mafia he's likely riled the town up in a shitstorm so that his partners can slip by. I don't think it's an accident that his aggressiveness has bled into the styles of other players; I don't recall seeing this sort of aggressiveness from other players in Day 1 in a while. If he's town, however, he does a great job of getting players to talk, even if his conclusions aren't on target. This can lead to the whole town getting off track.
This game in particular, I find some of his reasoning to be spun and contrived. He's been overly pedantic with his wording in regards to Zolah, and used it to accuse her of lying. I can quote things if people want later when I'm not on mobile. However, I've gotten in several spats with townie-zolah in past games, and her responses seem generally in line with what I've come to expect from her.
Neither Danbob nor JR read particularly strongly to me. JR can appear a little erratic regardless of role, and Danbob doesn't seem to be playing out of character to me. That all being said, right now I'm comfortable with my vote staying where it is, and I think ideally Viking vs JR/Zolah would be the most informative runoff.

Nice to see you wake up ZIG.
To answer questions regarding how I play, I play very differently than most of you which is why I have a better than 50% win rate as a townie. (I think it is in the 70s but too lazy atm to check). Too many times in the last 20 or so games have townies been on the right track but been knocked off due to a lack of conviction. I have always played like this way back to my first game in the 50s.
Also, it has nothing to do with Zolah being a woman and everything to do with the evidence at hand. I go after men just as vigorously or even more. Just given the disparity at hand, there is a greater sensetiviity to it.
Referencing 88 and 94 is odd to me because both of those were 2 of the most aberrant games on inforoo.
Re ZIG, I explained it already, said it was flimsy and left it out for all to see. This is why I have been evolving on JR. For him to miss that I had explained it already especially when it is a clear avenue to attack me makes me think he is just JR this game and not something more sinister. If he was mafia, you think someone would have said something and he would not have missed that.
I am not going to change how I play because this community has grown too sensitive. Either keep playing how you have and keep losing or be open minded to a different method that has actually worked. I am not saying play like me, just do SOMETHING different so we do continue to lose.
I have played like this in every game I have played all the way back to mafia 57 and in almost everyone of them, clearing and naming people pissed off people but it pissed off the mafia the most. Btw, in 57, my first game, I was 2 for 3 on who was mafia at about this stage. Dead wrong on 1 and held on to it way too hard. I have learned since to allow evolution, hence thoughts on JR.

This is exactly why I play the way I do. People actually post. It is also why info radio silent for periods too. I get caught in the duststorm and try to see what gets stirred up.
Jax, what do you believe was too pedantic? In my rereads, in have actually hardened on Zolah and even looked at other threads she played finding she is generally more fact based and less "spinny".
I already agree on JR as well. Picked one point that did it for me, but had been heading that way for a while as noted with the not even 70% post.

Anyways, because I believe she is mafia,
Viking >>> Zolah
when you did all of this did you realize the round had closed?
As far as I’m concerned if LD hasn’t closed it then the round is still open. That being said I think that jr is more suspicious than zolah. You said your feelings about him are changing. Can you expand more on that? Legitimately asking.
I’d leave it up to LD to make a call on this game. He’s the ref.
But for the future, I think we should have a rule where a posted end time is the end time regardless if the referee makes a post with a final tally. The only thing that should be able to extend a round is the referee making a post explicitly saying he/she is going to extend.

That's different from what it use to be, but I would have to agree. As I said, he posted the end-time and I missed it. If he has been in and posting tallies, it would have been a lot more clear, but the onus is on me as a player to know the deadline.
Deadline time is deadline time. If I say the round ends at X, and there's no request for an extension made, then X is the deadline. If moves happen afterwards, then it is for the following round based upon whatever has happened in the round before it. (Since Zolah was out of the runoff at Noon ET, Viking could not switch his vote over to her. If Zolah was still in the runoff after Noon, then Viking could make a move on round three to Zolah even though I technically never "closed" round two.)
If someone calls for an extension before the deadline (or makes a late vote that may warrant an extension) and I do not answer before said deadline time (say someone requests an extension at 10, but I don't see it until my lunch break at 12:05) - then the game is essentially paused at Noon until I respond granting or denying an extension.
