Sept. 1 Appalachian State Sept. 8 at Pittsburgh Sept. 15 Kent State Sept. 22 at Illinois Sept. 29 Ohio State Oct. 13 Michigan State Oct. 20 at Indiana Oct. 27 Iowa Nov. 3 at Michigan Nov. 10 Wisconsin Nov. 17 at Rutgers Nov. 24 Maryland Dec. 1 TBA Big Ten Championship Game (Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis)
very favorable home schedule, however, losing a ton of talent....I'll say 9-3
Looking at Michigan’s schedule next season I’m going with a soft 12-0.
2018 Sept. 1 -- at Notre Dame Sept. 8 -- Western Michigan Sept. 15 -- Southern Methodist Sept. 22 -- Nebraska Sept. 29 -- at Northwestern Oct. 6 -- Maryland (Homecoming) Oct. 13 -- Wisconsin Oct. 20 -- at Michigan State Oct. 27 -- Bye Week Nov. 3 -- Penn State Nov. 10 -- at Rutgers Nov. 17 -- Indiana Nov. 24 -- at Ohio State Dec. 1 -- Big Ten Championship Game
7-5
Michigan is returning all but one player on defense and should be able to improve the offense somewhat by fielding (at worst) a replacement level QB next year, so I think 9 wins is the real benchmark.

ND, Penn St, Wisconsin, Mich St, Ohio St.
I'd bet they get Michigan St out of that, and Penn St is in Ann Arbor. Of course, if they don't figure out the QB situation...
Mandel's way too early Top 25. Michigan at 11. Of course, he's a Big Ten homer.
Michigan is always rated too high in preseason.
The early season Michigan/ND match up was always great like this. They were both generally ranked pre-season, but most of the time one or the other wasn’t actually all that good. Generally ND was the not that good one and Michigan could rack up an early ranked win and cost on reputation until people figured out ND was nothing special this year.
All that said, I didn’t watch ND at all this year and have no idea how they’ll look next year. But a season opener on the road at night is not really a game you hope for as a fan with a lot riding on the next season.

ND might be decent next year. Clemson has an easy opener then goes to A&M.
