Aphex Twin on main would be a disaster with campers. He’s gotta be in the JMJ slot.
Yeah, that's what I said. I'm pretty sure he'll be billed third so I think we'll at least get one break from the 3-2-1 structure on main, opening it up for a 4/5/6 like Rufus to still play main.

I was gonna reply to this and say that even though generally I think it’s a dumb argument, maybe Aphex really is the guy that doesn’t care about where he’s billed and he could be 3 or 4. He only plays a few shows a year, if that, so what difference does it really make? But I went and actually looked at where he’s been billed at other fests that theory doesn’t hold up at all.
Now I think we’re actually underestimating the chances of him subbing (but playing the Outdoor), in The Knife’s spot from 2014.

Now that you bring it up, I’m inclined to agree with this - it makes sense for, say Solange or Anderson Paak to play before CG or JT or whatever even if they’re billed 3rd.

Yeah, obviously there's no good U.S. comps, but a decent global comp is NOS Porto Primavera Sound 2017.
Aphex was billed second behind Bon Iver (2017 Coachella sub) and above Justice (2017 Coachella #3) so I'm pretty sure he'd be looking for a 2 or 3 at Coachella.
Assuming our subs are VW, The 1975, and Solange, I'm not sure any of them get bumped to #3 (especially given The 1975's spring venues). If there's an odd sub promotion (Dua Lipa? etc.) I could see him getting #2.

Wavves and Beach Fossils just announced 6 dates in LA/SF that are right before the radius clause dates start (12/4-12/13). Does this do anything for a potential Coachella appearance.

I think something happened with those dates where Beach Fossils was announced on some SW dates (I think) but didn’t actually play them? Maybe they backed out so they could hit those venues after Coachella? Maybe I’m remembering wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hoping to see them. They seem like a perfect daytime set. They’re pretty good live.

even last year during Rezz it was super empty and she’s EDM bro approved.
She packed it out decently weekend one. Not to the level of Snakehips or Post Malone, but pretty decently nonetheless.
She had a decent crowd weekend 2 as well, but it was probably the smallest crowd for a night set in the Sahara all weekend. That surprised me, but I can’t remember what she was up against. Weeknd/Jamiroquai?

Yep, although The Weeknd's crowd wasn't that big all things considered.
