Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
As some suspected, Rufus will have a part in the HP dome
How does the Antarctic Dome work? Do they have scheduled times for the specific projects? Would like to check that out but I probably wouldn't skip any bigger sets for it.
Yeah I actually missed it in my rookie year, but Odesza and others contributed. There is some good YouTube footage out there. I missed the Ferris wheel last year too. Both are goals this year!
It's onsite. Weekend 2 only. No special passes needed. And if you want to switch weekends they direct you to their official tickets while.
A clever way to get W1 fans to "surrender" their passes for W2.
No W1 pass will go unsold to the waitlist. I really think there are "W1 or bust" folks out(some just want to join friends already going) there who won't do W2 for arbitrary reasons.
As a perennial Weekend 2er who is going to Weekend 1 this year, I'm bummed out about feeling the overcrowdedness of Weekend 1. Especially with how undersold Weekend 2 seems to be this year.
Weezer is a huge LA band that hasn’t played Coachella in 18 years . Not sure what’s lazy about it. You can not like something and it not be lazy. When I think lazy I think of some EDM DJ who hasn’t done anything of revelance but is brought back so soon cause they move tickets
Weezer played Coachella 2001 and 2005. 14 years. I don't know what serious work they've released in those 14 years that warrants a return booking.
There's stuff like Gary Numan/Deftones/Blondie/Weird Al/Garbage/Grace Jones that have never played Coachella in 2 decades and all but Blondie can sleep in their home bed after the show.
Me and my group are planning on driving Sunday morning to catch Kanye but I'm wondering if this is just a horrible idea based on what I've heard about the parking situation on Sunday's with the campers all moving their cars to the parking lot. Whats the best way to do this?

I would imagine that if you get in by 9am you will be more than fine.

I don’t see anyway this works and people are satisfied.
The crowds sleeping and camping. The people waking up bumrushing people sleeping People hungry unshowered with unbrushed teeth The shuttles and Ubers coming in Line into the campgrounds that early People trying to sneak in and instead of sneaking into Coachella with open grass they’re sneaking into the campgrounds running over tents People doing drugs at 8am and not making it the whole day
Weezer seems lazy but they have basically never played, and their streaming numbers are big (for rock). They actually have about the same.number of listeners on Spotify as Tame Impala. Which surprised me.
Red Hot Chili Peppers and Arctic Monkeys are considerably more popular on that platform.
48 The Original Misfits Prudential Center Newark, N.J. May 19, 2018 $1,699,581 12,498 / 12,498 1 / 1 $139.50, $49.50 Live Nation
Whoever suggested the Misfits forgot how much they would cost for an audience that would be comparable to the 2014 Replacements Coachella debacle.
Steely Dan sold out the Hollywood Bowl (a 40% larger venue than the Prudential Center) at obscene prices the year after being booked at Coachella. Think I paid $80 for a seat in the middle tier. Just because a band can have a high gross at a show doesn't mean they can't be booked.

The more I think about it the more I think he does both weekends. Why would be the hill only be available one day? That whole story sounds made up now lmao

There’s a (very) small part of me that wants to say there might be a good reason it’s only weekend 2. They need time for logistics, they can’t get the shuttles running both weekends (unlikely), weekend 2 is so undersold it’s the only time there’s enough room in the campground to make it work. But really it’s just a scheme to use Kanye’s gospel shtick to make money and sell some weekend 2 tickets.

Man I still can't wrap my head around this idea that Weekend 2 is severely undersold and they stopped selling tickets in January just to save face or whatever.
Man I wonder why Wk2 Stubhub prices have barely moved? I thought Kanye's gospel sing-along and MAGA hootenanny would have put them up in the $1000 range by now because Kanye is still really popular and definitely hasn't decimated his appeal and fan base with half a decade of rank stupidity and subpar music.

I’m not surprised. People need to feel like they HAVE to buy tickets. Presales help justify the prices they charge vendors. Vendors expect 100K yearly. Event doesn’t sell out then less people buy presale, vendor may not want to pay that Coachella price for 75K people

W2 was about to be damn near free. Most people don’t care that Ye is MAGA. If he had a headlining set in Jan resale would be high. This is an added bonus that not even ya music nerds understand. Also why buy resale above face when onsale is Friday? Plus hard to drop plans less than 2 weeks before. Most jobs won’t even let you call off without 14 days

I think I'm missing your point, wouldn't you want to sell all your tickets to please your vendors/sponsors?

I'm very curious to see how many people actually go to this. Obviously it'll be a ton, but like...5,000? 10,000? 20,000? More? I would be surprised if there are that many offsite people who attend; I'm W1, but the thought of getting home at 2-3am, hanging out a bit before bed, then waking back up to get back to the grounds at 8am (then having nothing to do for hours, exhausted) is a hard pass.
Relatedly, anyone know how many people camp each year?

Steely Dan had no real radius clause in 2015 so their artist fee would have been modest. Misfits would have to very exclusive to have any chance of working.

Coachella brand strength. $10mil worth of hotel packages to move. Unsold W2 Tickets were always available via secondary/waitlist/weekend switching/(maybe Amex?).

W1 isn't Easter. Plus the whole thing will be a crowd nightmare that shouldn't be repeated. Plus there might be PR reasons that keep it away from W1. In the past one weekend got Record Store Day and the other didn't.

W1 is Palm Sunday. What about the PR reasons of “this is an obvious stunt to boost a struggling W2”? No one gives a fuck about Record Store Day
Jesus, this quote is kind of embarrassing for PT from that Billboard article. Who the hell believes this:
------------------------------
A limited number of tickets will go on sale Friday for weekend 2 so that "some hardcore fans can get in," noting that he's releasing tickets that had been held for music industry professionals and friends and family.
"There's been some sacrifices for us to make this happen," Tollett says. "It might be hard for the industry to call us to buy tickets because I have to make sure Kanye fans are there."

What are they going to do? Ask you at the checkout: "Are you a Kanye fan? []yes []no []depends, is he wearing the hat?

The wait list? Tickets still available through AMEX? Billie Eilish hustling W2 tickets off their Instagram? And now having enough leftover "comped tickets" for W2 they can sell? None of this has happened before.

I don’t think the wait list is a response to the lower W2 sales but yeah, everything else probably is. I’m not so sure Sunday Service is a reaction to that either. I don’t mind PT’s response though, what else is he supposed to say? It’s not like he’s going to admit sales were slower.

Say we're excited to release some more tickets to give fans who want to see this the opportunity to attend without lying about how his industry friends clamoring for tickets will have to sacrifice their comps for the "hard core Kanye fans."
I was one of the few on here who was very excited to potentially get a Kanye headlining set this year. That being said, the chances of me getting up at 7:00 AM to find a way to get over to a hill in the campground to maybe hear a few songs amidst a prayer service is 0%. I’m sure more details will come out about how this will run but it honestly sounds like an easy pass.
