Oh, fully expect Cudi to have the 2nd largest gathering behind Ariana Grande (maybe 3rd behind Ari and Billie). Especially if he's closing a stage with rumblings of Kanye doing KSG with him. Kanye hope will be half of Cudi's draw, but he will draw nonetheless. Also don't underestimate the nostalgia cult following that he has.
Khalid's crowd will be packed but only because of Ariana Grande campers. I fully expect Khalid to have one of the most boring sets of the weekend. No offense to Khalid. Juice Wrld isn't on that level yet. Balvin/Bunny/BLACKPINK will draw well but they're still niche acts. Zedd/Snake/Diplo are fair but I think Cudi will outdraw them. But then again his crowd numbers will be down by default if he's really in the Sahara.

Snake’s crowd will be ginormous and will grow as it goes. Zedd will probably also have a huge crowd, even though it will likely be one or the most boring sets of the weekend.
I’m shocked that people think Cudi is that much of a draw. Tons of nostalgia yes and he’s relevant again so great combination but can non super fans name more than 3 songs? To be a huge draw at Coachella don’t you need bonafide hits?

I mean i'm not going to doubt his draw. In my group of 12, I bet 8 are 100% going to Cudi with 1 or 2 more on the fence based on scheduling. (My group is all over 30)

I’m being educated on these threads. I mean I personally want to see him and his show at Coachella last time was one of the most fun daytime hip hop shows I’ve ever been to, I’m just surprised by how popular he is right now.

Not to be over dramatic but he’s literally the face of the music festival boom even though he doesn’t do many festivals.
Coming in 2008/2009 with blog era rap and rapping over band of horses and Andre 3000. Kanye co-sign. Crookers remixing a hip hop track and making it bigger than the original. MGMT & Ratatat on your album that also has common and Kanye right after getting on Jay-Z’s album. Open about psychedelics and depression in hip hop. He is a hip hop artist but he’s one of the popular symbols of genre blending. I can’t think of another act who has done it like him in the last 10 years. His reach is huge. So even tho he’s not selling out arenas or has a hit single, so many people 24-32 (which is a large part of the demographic) hold some memory to his music and because of that will strongly attempt to go.

You’re probably taking that literally which I understand cause you’re on your embarrassing Cudi headline hill but I don’t mean festivals sell out because of Cudi lol. If you look at how the makeup of festivals went before 2008 (Coachella and bonnaroo being mostly indie bands with late 90s techno and underground hip hop) to a hodgepodge of genres they have now its cause of artists like Kanye and Cudi. And I choose to give more credit to Cudi but you can make them equal if you will.

For the record, I don’t plan to see Cudi, but I did have a blast in 14 at his set. I still think he’ll have a big crowd, but not top three, as others have alluded too.
So to summarize: The face of the music festival boom and the biggest rock star on the planet got together and made an album, and that Kids See Ghosts album was such a massive selling supernova that it rocketed all the way to the 140th best selling album of 2018, a full 12 spots behind an album by Wiz Khalifa, who everyone in this thread agrees is a has-been and won't draw shit.

Well you did say "literally the face of the music festival boom" lol. Sure Cudi is part of the shift but it's not like he's the sole reason for it nor is he one of the biggest players of that. That mostly goes to Kanye, Drake, the rise of hip-hop and the shift/acceptance of pop. I know Cudi has a lot of indie cred but I think you guys are really over exaggerating how big of a deal he is.
We wouldn't even be having this conversation if it weren't for Kanye and KSG.

Well stated. I mentioned this in another thread but I caught him at the fader fort with Kanye when 808s dropped. That album was the real spark for the way hip hop drifted and Cudi was a big part of it.

Did I miss anything?
Just that Kid Cudi (450th most streamed artist on Spotify currently) is going to outdraw nearly everybody including Billie Eilish (14th), Childish Gambino (208th), Khalid (4th), Zedd (54th), DJ Snake (30th), Diplo (20th) and that chump Wiz Khalifa (91st).

I can’t wait to revisit this Monday lmao. But if they stick him in the Sahara this argument will all be for not except for how much of a shit show the crowd was

Yeah.
I apologize, you're correct. I missed that after Kanye's Sunday Service was announced, the secondary market demand for Wk 2 has surged to such extraordinary levels that the Stubhub price dropped from $370 to the current $315 with further room to tank.
It seems odd that all these hundreds of thousands of Kanye fans are selling their tickets at a large loss as a means to express their desire to see Kanye, but you're the smart one with your finger on the pulse of the fans so maybe you've got an alternate explanation for this inexplicable market activity.

KSG sold out Camp Flog Gnaw!!! (with like 5 other artists that could play arenas in the area)
