About Metallica. They emailed out one of those Prizeo things - $10 donation for an entry win VIP passes, meet the band blah blah blah. Anyways, it's noted that their show in Grand Rapids March 13 is the last of the US tour. So maybe no additional dates, and no Coachella
"We’re giving away a pair of tickets, Meet & Greet passes, and pre-show party passes! Plus one lucky Grand Prize Winner will win a VIP trip to the last U.S. show in Grand Rapids, Michigan and meet members of the band!" Also, "For each night of their tour, Metallica will give away one pair of tickets along with passes to the M&G as well as pre-show party passes including the Memory Remains exhibit of band memorabilia, food and beverage, the t-shirt of your choice and a limited edition tour poster. Plus one lucky winner will win a flyaway VIP trip to the final date of the U.S. tour to see the show and meet members of the band. All to support Metallica's foundation, All Within My Hands."

If CHVRCHES do end up playing this, they probably get about the same time slot they had in 16, no? I enjoyed Love Is Dead but it doesn't really feel like they moved the needle in either direction in terms of their overall popularity
So uh, what if Swedish House Mafia closed a day like Tiesto or The Weeknd a few years ago after a headliner? Bolded seem like a somewhat lock, I think?
Tame Impala Anderson .Paak - The Chemical Brothers - Robyn - Death Cab for Cutie - ZHU
Childish Gambino Swedish House Mafia - The 1975 - Thom Yorke - Interpol - Rufus Du Sol - YG

Tour's end does not exclude the possibility of one or more festival appearances to follow, but between that and the fact that they did the Rose Bowl, Petco, and Outside Lands last year, yeah, I'd say it's unlikely.
At this point, I'd say that the likeliest prospect is Muse (VW in the Haim spot), with Maiden a very dark horse. New albums or reunions could change things, but as of now I don't see strong prospects of same from anyone but Tool.

They already did - in 2012. They just stick out like a sore thumb on that lineup, especially with how little EDM GV booked last year on the second lines. I don't think they play.
I would add Courtney Barnett to any mock in last place on the second line. Scroll through GV's twitter - they reference her a decent amount - plus Greek GV show in October, plus that lineup needs more women.

Seems realistic, maybe needs another female or two, but what a weak/boring set of headliners. Maybe someone(Florence and the Machine) co headlines with Tame or they wait?
I hope YG is not 2nd line, album was very weak imo, but I liked his previous two
EDIT: I had paak subbing as well, or maybe 3rd. But anyone think we may be jumping ship? He didn't sell much with malibu, hard to even find data. 3rd or even 4th name seems much more fair, even if album is a big success.
Florence + the Machine - The Chainsmokers the 1975 - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals - Camila Cabello - RL Grime - Thom Yorke Rex Orange County - Pusha T - SOFI TUKKER - Young Thug - Blood Orange- Unknown Mortal Orchestra
Justin Timberlake Vampire Weekend - Logic - Dua Lipa - My Bloody Valentine - Zhu - Death Cab for Cutie - CHVRCHES Virtual Self - YG - Chromatics - Courtney Barnett - Playboi Carti- Tchami - The Vaccines
Childish Gambino Lana Del Rey - The National - Aphex Twin - James Blake - Interpol - Rufus Du Sol - 21 Savage -Janelle Monae - Slowdive - Joey Bada$$ - Toro Y Moi - Leon Bridges - Seven Lions - DVSN
Changed up some things, maybe more realistic, not sure if its any better
What would you fix/add? I'm not the best at making these mocks tbh
I think you could take something from the run of four between The National-Interpol and switch someone to Friday for Camilla. Lots of good indie/rock stuff on your Sunday that could be spread around, especially since Sunday's are typically lighter on that stuff in my experience. Not unrealistic overall. The Flo/Chainsmokers/1975 thing could use some balancing out.

Also trying to spread the women out on each day too though
I forgot about Griz, could they make the 3rd line you think?
Hoping the lineup is better than what I got and they surprise us
I think I may have too much rock/indie tbh, with the way the fest is going
What's with the Lana sub? If GV wanted her, then she would've been there this year not next year.
edit: The National is a sub at this point btw.
I was guessing maybe she has something new/small stuff out by then, but honestly trying to get a women in top 6 that is realistic(I forgot I had her there, previously did not have Florence in my mock).
Say GV wants 2 women in top 6 or they dont even get Florence, what women would be there?

If you really wanted to get into it and make it "balanced", then you could swap out the first two of line two between Fri/Sun and then switch Camilla to Sunday for one of the remaining three indie groups. In reality, it would be difficult to really schedule for any kind of "balance" on a day-to-day basis, so it's likely that one day might skew heavier towards the demographic you might be concerned with.
Most websites that are obsessed with this kind of thing generally aggregate the entire lineup and don't look at dailies. Pitchfork does this kind of aggregated analysis every year, I believe, but couldn't Google you a link within the amount of time I wanted to waste on that.

Honestly, if you're having a hard time placing female acts in the top 6 then just don't do it.
Thanks, its kind of stupid to me but its kind of what it is
Much less female rappers, edm acts, bands. So on a percentage wise its just not possible to have them near even b/c I think there are just more males to pick from

I can't even imagine how drunk I'd get in the beer garden if this were an actual day
Paul McCartney Vampire Weekend, Aphex Twin, Khalid, Janelle Monáe ZHU, Blood Orange, Jamie xx, Pusha-T, Jon Hopkins
Justin Timberlake the 1975, Dua Lipa, A$AP Rocky, Thom Yorke, Grimes Silk City, Earl Sweatshirt, Carley Rae Jepsen, Carl Cox
Childish Gambino Disclosure, My Bloody Valentine, Robyn, Anderson. Paak James Blake, Virtual Self, Hot Chip, YG, Rex Orange County
I assume this is just a shorter version(probably missing a name or two on each line) right? I like it (my hopes are not crazy this year), no edm on Saturday(but I assume its a mini version)

Not saying no to Flo, but I were going to think of the likeliest female headliners for next year, I might start with Cardi B.
Bjork certainly doesn't have the profile that she did two decades ago, but I wouldn't necessarily assume she'd be dropped from headliner status (has anyone been?). More likely, a big millennial act would occupy the Haim spot. Most likely both parties want to avoid the issue.
