To be fair, the solo stuff he put out in the 80s was pretty dope and forward-thinking and he's one of the great songwriters in pop music history, so I'll give it an earnest shot in a way that I didn't with like Roger Waters' new "If I Were God" bullshit that I treated like a beer break.
Cardi does not headline Coachella before Nicki considering the respective albums they each released this year.
Cardi’s album did better than Nicki’s is doing right now though. I honestly don’t ever see Nicki headlining, she’s just not gonna get there. Cardi I could see with another album or two.
Cardi was also a "buy low" gamble by Goldenvoice that ended up being an absolute smash home run. Everything broke perfectly for GV - new album was a hit, couple other big singles were hits by Coachella, she was willing to invest in her stage setup, she was able to still do the shows with her pregnancy, etc.
Paying her $70k to be one of the most hyped sets of the weekend was a no-brainer, but would they pay her a few million to headline or sub if she never gets any hits bigger than the Invasion of Privacy singles? I wouldn't think so, so they definitely wouldn't book her blind, and its dependent on how successful she is on maintaining her moment as to whether she'll ever play again
Cardi has ONE album, and two mixtapes, she should not even be considered for anything. She hasn't even dropped anything new since she played. One more album and some random features/songs and I could see her subbing, or waiting to drop 2 and then headline
I am still not sure what route they want to go with 3rd headliner. Do they want JT, Gambino, and another rapper/pop act (Kanye or Rihanna) or a rock act (Impala, Florence, Legacy)
I could see them going with no rock headliner and a couple bands to sub (vampire weekend, the national, the 1975) and some bands in 2nd and 3rd line

That's about as good as a primarily hip hop festival lineup can get for my taste. Definitely not my sort of crowd, but if I lived in the area I'd absolutely hit that up

ASAP, The Internet, Pusha T, Earl, Playboi Carti, Billie Elish, Turnstile, and ROC actually on the poster would probably be the most logical to start with
Not only was Kanye booked at a festival, but it was a GV festival. Hmmmmm.
Tyler the Creator puts this festival together (with a lot of help from GV) so not too surprising. But it is very cool to see Kids See Ghosts on a lineup poster.

Probably, I really just care for Pusha of these names. Don't love Asap's newer stuff, but I would likely go.
Rocky did like 75k week one, sad for him. He is a 2nd name on 2nd line (#3 on any day) right? Probably play main stage now, then the sub, then headliner?
Depends on what the setlist looks like but its probably a shame hes touring on Kids See Ghosts. My guess: all 7 KSG songs, 5 of 7 or so Ye songs, 7-10 Cudi songs, 5-7 other Kanye songs

I don't think TESTING was as bad as a lot of publications and word of mouth made it out to be, it just wasn't anything special. He's still capable of holding down that 7PMish spot on the Outdoor or the Main, imo
