Can we get a Watch The Throne Performance with Ye and Jay? Both albums, would be legendary
I think this would be a long way out and not enough progress would be made to book Watch the Throne. If Ye is booked then they’re also pretty much out for 2020, so if WtT2 is real this could be a very important lineup. An iteration of Kanye is long overdue so it’s only a matter of time. Will it be Ye solo or WtT?

Maybe I missed seeing this migrate over here or the Coachella forums, but somebody on reddit seems super confident headliners are Rihanna / CG / JT per someone "who works for Coachella."
If so, Rihanna would be my favorite of the three headliners and I'm glad they're taking her over, say, Muse or Kings of Leon again, but two straight years without a band headliner would be tough.

I wouldn't be surprised if this came to fruition. It would, however, like you mentioned, be tough not to have a band headlining two years in a row.
It can technically be 3/3 if Gambino only plays new album at Coachella
Seems very weird to me though if that happens. Depends if he drops album before ACL or if he plays with new album at 2019 lolla or Bonaro
I’d be shocked if Gambino didn’t play Lolla next year.
I feel like what he plays is based solely off what ever fits into his schedule right now. If he's not busy filming anything during that time then I would agree.

Yeah didn’t consider that. Regardless, he fits right in with their booking patterns.
Rihanna at Coachella would be a lot of fun, pretty ideal setting to see her in. That said, it seems too obvious to be legit.
Why obvious? Eminem and The Weeknd were everywhere the last couple years. Rihanna hasn’t headlined any (traditional) US festivals.
Yeah I feel like it seems obvious because her name has become a popular headliner guess around inforoo, but in reality I think it’d be big for a lot of people

It seems too formulaic based on last year. R&B, rapper, female pop star. It feels like when Bonnaroo booked Elton John then everyone around here spent they whole off season guessing Billy Joel and I kept saying “no dummies, they’re not going follow Elton John with Billy Joel, the shittier version of the same act. That would be so lazy even Bonnaroo wouldn’t stoop so low.” I was 100% right then and this kinda feels the same

Calling JT R&B and Gambino a rapper isn’t a 100% truth. It’s just a shift to pop and booking a female pop headliner two years in a row has been done by other festivals (Osheaga does it like every year).
I mean, thinking about it logically re: band headliners besides just "rock is dead"...
Almost every "legacy" headliner they would anticipate booking is probably being saved for DTII and or Arroyo Seco (Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, U2, etc.). Almost every "headliner worthy rock band" feels been there, done that because there haven't been a lot of new ones since, say, 2012 (The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Muse, etc.). Then the rare potential exceptions seem like they either have rumored feuds with GV or are doing their own festivals / stadium tours (Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters).
Other than a big money reunion - which is rare, and how many are really left - there's logical reasons why Coachella wouldn't get many "rock headliner" looks anymore. It's sad, but if you look at each headliner in isolation - if this is true - and ask "Is [X] a better booking than Muse?" the answer is yes. Just the state of rock today if GV is unwilling to throw legacy acts to Coachella.
Oh, so that guy doesn't know shit then. That's fine.
I think people thought you meant the dude who called Beyonce / The Weeknd / The Chainsmokers last year came out and said it was Rihanna / JT / AM.
People shit on that dude because of the Chainsmokers prediction, but in retrospect he had The Weeknd before anyone else. So if he was trolling or guessing, good for him, but he seems like he knew something.

2019 would be a perfect year to do Coachella for me but absolutely no way I am headed there for Rhianna- Gambino - Timberlake. Then again, not like we are seeing rock headliners anytime soon so I guess I'll just have to go one year with even looking at the lineup.
