Foals has a new album on the way. They'd seem to fit the bill of a generic rock undercard act. I personally like them a lot too but is it too soon? I think it's been 3 years which should be fine.
I saw Hopkins/Avery bill two nights ago in LA, and I enjoyed Avery's set much more than Hopkins. Both were great though.
Both sets were awesome, but I think Hopkins needs to work more on a better visual setup.
Visuals were fine I think, but I expected a better transition between the songs to be honest. It was a good set, doubtlessly, but those few quiet seconds between songs slowed down the momentum IMO.

I always thought Hopkins would eventually get a cool stage show like Amon Tobin, DJ Shadow, etc. Weird he continues to tour with a regular screen, but I imagine it's much cheaper.

I dont think The Cure is gonna be at Coachella, probably at another couple of festivals in the US that needs to solid up their Rock/Critically acclaimed bonafides. Maybe Firefly
If Firefly is still in June then I doubt they play one. If they play an American one I think OSL makes sense. They’ve played all of the other Big 5 besides Roo and will be in Europe during Roo.

If FYF makes a return I think they’re a lock to headline that instead of Coachella. Other than that I’d only bet on them hitting OSL and/or ACL for the major fests because they’re toward the end of the year. Completely depends on the amount of US fests they’re playing.

He's moving the Dreamville festival that got cancelled due to the Hurricane to April
Its not in the West Coast though, not those 5 states listed, its in NC
So why would this take them out
Artists playing Coachella are not allowed to perform at any festival in North America from Dec. 15 to May 1, Amplify has learned, casting a much wider net than had previously been known -- the original complaint in the case incorrectly stated that the clause only extended to five Western states -- California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona.
They may make an exception for some undercard act at III Points or some boutique fest, but they're not gonna let J Cole operate his own fest in April then play Coachella a week later.

I think they’d make an exception for artists that had to reschedule because of a hurricane. If artists were already signed before this happened, legally they probably couldn’t even use the clause to back out if they were dumb enough to try.

Oh I guess I misunderstood the part where its not just hose 5 states anymore We have always seen exceptions anyways, but who knows. Maybe b/c of the hurricane they would be ok. But I doubt Cole plays anyways

What I'm saying is he probably moved it to April because he wasn't signed up to play.

That’s not what you said, but I agree with this reasoning. Don’t think it affects anyone else on the bill.

Seems like this giant Europe tour should eliminate Metallica from contention. Can’t see them tacking on an underattended Coachella set to kick this off.
